Boot sole length

Is there a norm for sole length or will i have to remount my bindings when i get a different boot (e.g. descendant to first chair, both 28.5)

There is no norm for sole length. Making it a norm would greatly handicap the design, function, and fit of the boot.

But you will (usually) not need a remount going from one FT 28.5 to another FT 28.5. However, you should always check forward pressure and get a release check done because they might be different by a few mm and this can affect release characteristics.
