bread_birdI ski a 100 at Stevens, so a 99 should be fine. Anywhere from 100-110 is what I would call a "daily driver," but it really depends on which part of the mountain you want the ski to excel on. Which lifts do you lap usually?
newkid900I really don't know to be honest. I grew up skiing at Mission but really haven't been skiing in the past few years. Stevens is a new mountain for me. My first day back on snow was this past Saturday and I slayed Mission. I did a decent amount of hiking to Windy Ridge and Microwave. I also rode the Bomber chutes. Bowl 5 and backside Castle were pure crud.
bread_birdGotcha. Seems like you were in a similar position as I was at the beginning of this season. I wasn't sure what I was going to be skiing, but was deciding between 100 and 110. Went with the 100, and haven't regretted the extra bit of maneuverability it gives me, even if I sink a bit more on landings or when I ski fluffy snow.
My take is you should go with the 99, unless you think you will be going big or are super confident about next year's snowfall.
newkid900I'm never confident about snowpack from season to season.
newkid900I have a similar problem...work.
