so a grom hit my ski pretty hard when i checked them for damage, i noticed my edge was pushed in and i got a decent size bump on my base, there magnus 102's as well, im just thinking of the best way to fix it, either using wood plank and some water or just pressure at the point of the bump.
Depends how far in the edge is bent. It may be possible to bend the edge back straight then the base could be glued back down. But if the edge is really bent it may need cutting out and replacing.
Either way take them to a good shop and see what they advise.
I get these all the time from catching on the beginning of rails and such. Does exactly what you described. Base rises up and edge dents in a little. I just do nothing to it and ride it out. But if it’s significant, to where the edge is bent in real bad, you could just fill the hole with epoxy cause cutting or bending the edge wouldn’t be easy.
Ye pics. But if it's like what I had happen a few times where there is a little bump on the base that you can feel dragging, cut it out with an exacto knife and fill it
Pics here I put a large clamp on it overnight and it seemed to help, I’m super paranoid and ocd with my skis I wax and fix edges once a week, I can’t get rid of the depression in the edge though, any thoughts? And if not will it affect the durability?
Water expands when it freezes and you put it in wood it causes the wood to freeze and expand if it’s porous enough. It’s the same janky way people crack boulders open.
this happened to my arv 96s this season because I came off early while spinning a blind 2 and bashed my tip into the rail. I just left it because it was pretty far up on the tip and the sidewall didn't separate or anything and its been fine so far
