Wooden Rail

So I live 1 hour from the ski hill, and wanted to practice everyday, so I built a rail. I didn’t have any pvc or metal pipe so I put a 2x4 instead. When I hit the rail, i almost fall sideways because my skis stick. It might be from the weather, it’s 40 degrees F, but if not, is there any way to grease it? If necessary I can buy a pipe. But I’d rather not. Any suggestions appreciated.

Can attempt to wax it but typically its the type of wood. Id just buy some pvc tubes and be done with it.

Pvc is cheap af. Go to the local lumber/hardware joint and pick some up. Will slide way better and it's super cheap.

You really need to have hardwoods to make good wood rails. I'm not a huge fan of wood features for the sticking reason.

Rip out your edges and maybe youll have a shot at sliding that 2x4
