Gripwalk boots with regular bindings

So I decided to go buy some new boots today, and wanted them to work with the bindings that I had, but I didn’t know much about them. I told the bootfitter that I needed the boots to work and he reassured me that all alpine boots work with all alpine bindings. After trying a few boots I settled on the Dalbello panterra 120, and gave my skis to the shop to set the bindings to the right size and release check them. After I got home I saw a pamphlet on gripwalk in the box with the boots and decided to do some research. And everything I have found says that my older bindings (rs11 and attack13) aren’t compatible with gripwalk soles. Is this just a money grab by binding companies to make you upgrade? Or is there a legitimate safety issue. Would you guys expect shop techs to know what is and isn’t compatible? I don’t really want to return the boots because they fit great but also don’t want to spend a bunch on new bindings.

It's not a money grab, gripwalk soles are a different boot norm that doesn't work with regular alpine bindings. If you try to shove a GW boot in an alpine binding it might fit, but the binding won't release like it should and you will probably damage the boot too. If you have the newer attack 11s with the new toe piece they are GW compatible, but the rs11s definitely aren't. If your shop says that GW boots work in alpine bindings, that is super sketchy and I would be wary of that shop.

It’s the older attack 13s. They also supposedly release checked the bindings with the boots.

I’m gonna talk to the owner tommorow and ask for him to give me new gw bindings for really cheap since both the bootfitter and the guy who release checked the skis assured me the bindings I had worked, and I could of fucked up my knees if I skied them. If he doesn’t I guess I’ll return the boots and buy my gear elsewhere, leave them some bad internet reviews.

ok so my bad apparently the gripwalk is only an option. the boots I bought don't have it, thankfully. this pamphlet in the box is what led me to believe that they did. thankfully the shop guys knew their stuff.
