@LANTASKIGood. They always hated on skiing. Now that the tables have turned, I am enjoying watching Snowboardings slow death from Core Action sport to the first choice of gapers and Jerrys, while the serious snow sports enthusiasts get back to skiing
theabortionatorSnowboarding isn't dying and sweet troll. C+ at best.
freeskibum82yea i agree. board sales are up this year and on the steady incline. trends come in waves and snowboarding is one of them. I would expect them to increase in popularity in the coming years.

eheathYeah people assume because a "company" closes it means the sport is dying, but when you have an outdated medium like magazines, everyone is going to stop making them eventually, has nothing to do with the topic.
soupInitially I was sad reading this yes, until I read @darcybacha post about it. He basically said "for everyone who is upset with the passing of Transworld, did you have a subscription? When was the last time you bought an issue then?"
Made me think of my last ski mag purchase
TRVP_ANGELabout fucking time, who reads magazine prints anymore??
freeskibum82*cough* sean pettit *cough*
theabortionatorI didn't read them as heavily as I used to but it was nice flipping through mags again.
The biggest thing is that it one of those official signals of times changing. The nostalgia of getting those monthly mags, pouring over every picture and article. Cutting them out to put up on your wall. It's a piece of the industry that's been around forever and now it's not. I don't think people are as sad that they aren't going to be able to order a subcription(that they probably never were going to) as the fact that a staple of the snowboard industry is no more.
freeskibum82Its the fault of social media and content producers dropping stuff immediately. It's because we as a society need it now and if its too late we just dont care.
Remember the days of getting the gear guides in the fall to see all the new stuff? That doesnt happen anymore as you can see it all in January instead. If content provides held articles and features like that until magazine publish they may still get more magazine sales but since they need to publish ASAP to be first to market, it ruins it. The same goes for videos. There was nothing better than waiting for trailer season and deciding what movie you were going to buy in the fall. Now you just get small edits all season and it leaves nothing for the video really.
I miss those days. the fall winter sport hype is dying.
It also doesn't help that companies like TNF and Patagonia require shops to order in january, even before Outdoor Retailer now.. They rush the seasons as well.

SegsxiThe real question is do we allow refugees from Transworld, YObeat, Etc. to come over to NS and have the same protections as native NSers? What do you all think?
