Cade2Like plastic skateboards from Walmart like penny boards
Never seen penny boards at a walmart, just the shitty knockoffs. My point is that there is a walmart version of most things you can buy, and that’s a stupid reason to go “ooh walmart ____, no thanks”
And I really don’t see a huge issue here. Lay something welded to the edge for rigidity, and mold it into plastic. Sure, really different from anything on the market, but shit, most ideas here is along the lines of “BRING THIS OUTDATED PRODUCT BACK PLSSSSS”. I get it some stuff is genuinely missed, but if you want discontinued products back from huge companies like K2 or Salomon, here is probably not the place to ask them. On the other hand, companies like Vishnu and ON3P, who actually interact with their customers can actually make a difference based on the niche consumer demand that drives a substantial percentage of their sales.
No matter how well you take care of a ski, it won’t last forever. Skis rot and absorb water over time, especially with coreshots, edge pull outs, and remounts. Plastic does not suffer the same issue, and can be a consistent material to the base, so core shots wouldn’t even matter. Again, I do not own a ski conpany, nor do I own a plastic mold, so this is just an idea that maybe someone who knows what they’re doing could find a way to properly impliment that.
