Let’s step back a second and talk

Does anyone actually think about the things they say anymore? Let me answer, that would be a 95% hard no.
Hardly anyone thinks about the detrimental effects that words can have on a person.
No one truly knows what a person has been through or is going through. When you use your words to tear down someone, it doesn’t build you up, it sets you back.
When, say that you tell a person that they are not smart enough, or talented enough to do what they’ve been dreaming to do all of their life. That person may blow it off the first time, but jokingly [or not] multiple other people say it in passing, they’ll start believing it. They may give up on their dream, or in all seriousness life in general. When enough negative things are said to them they struggle to see the good in themselves. And the people around them. You don’t know how hard they are trying to achieve their goal, or what trauma they have been through. Just know that the words you say do have an impact, good or bad, and it can change their world forever.
Next time you say something negative [or positive] to someone, just know that what you say does matter.
Think before you speak.
(I’m off my soap box now.)
