When then the binding is integrated into the ski it is called a "system" and when the ski is without binding, the top of the ski is "flat". Freeskis are flat/flat mount.
The reason why Head is saying this is because any binding can go on a flat ski, and to make sure they sell as many bindings as they can, they say that only Head/Tyrolia bindings go on Head skis.

Thats what I friggin thought! Marketing scheme for sure, I couldn't think of one possible reason because the skis are as flat as the dessert. My knees will thank me for not switching back
Speak of the devil, I was trying to find specs for the head caddy the other day (honestly don't remember why) and I noticed they had that disclaimer on the page for that ski. Either whoever made their site knows nothing about skiing and just puts the disclaimer on the page for on every ski, or they figured any customer that took that seriously would result in a few extra dollars for Head. Anyway, here's a screenshot and link to the page.
P.s. 60+ days on my head caddys with FKS 180's and no binding related issues, though once any ski starts losing edge, the likelihood of binding rip out increases. Fill your core shots and dull your edges before you take them on rails!
It could also be less warranty claims because people like you and I just say fuck you and mount our own bindings. Then when we need a replacement we’re screwed
