How many online members were on NS at Its peak?

2006-2009 was NS' peak I believe. Hundreds of members online at almost all times. Would refresh the forums every minute or two and new threads would appear. It's been a slow but steady downward spiral ever since. NS, at least the forums, is a mere shadow of its former self.

Yeah. I still feel like ns could get back to transcending skiing like it did in its peak. Alot of people who found the skiing revolution cool got together and it was a pretty based place. If they didnt come out all social justice
And ban people for being un pc this place might still have a pulse. I think the reason alot of interesting ppl were attracted to a park forum is because it takes both athleticism and a brain to be able to ski park. As opposed to big mountain meathead bros who couldnt figure out how to spin.
I guess newschool isnt new anymore tho.

Kids dont use forums anymore. People rock ig, snap, etc. Hell they arent even using facebook really. The times when NS was raging was a time when all kinds of random internet forums were thriving.

I really like forums. Kind of a bummer but nice to see it still getting a bit of traffic.

I do kind of miss the last thread on NSG being less than 10 minutes old. Things out of control. Honestly even a night spent inside on the intranets getting black out and making shitty threads was pretty fun. I wish I had made an account earlier but still had some good times.

Bummed that I'm too young to have ever seen the site at its peak, I wish I knew what NS was like when people talk about it in the late 2000s

The only reason things aren't popping like they used to is the ski industry gave up on being the cool thing. Most people, unlike skateboarding for instance, are priced out of skiing. If you want to invest, have disposable income, be able to care for your body in old age - it's hard as fuck to keep up a skiing habit.

That being said, somehow in a global economic recession the ski industry boomed to new heights 2005-2010 - Thousands of rich pro hoes flocked to the slopes with their boomer parents money which a lot of the time was a credit card and paid astronomical prices for niche outerwear and small ski brands. Jiberish was probably the most memorable and took the hardest fall in popularity. The dick riding was hard during the X Games when everyone was online, then the crescendo was basically when freeskiing was brought into the olympics. Now nobody gives a fuck.
