Replying to Thredbo info?

Wondering how the mountain is. Should I bring my touring gear down there? Also what's the best way to get there, coming from Sydney or Melbourne? Flights seem pretty similar to both. I've been to Sydney once but never Melbourne.

Do most people who ski/work there live in Jindabyne? If so anyone have any details about the town? Is it a cool place, is rent absurd or somewhat affordable?

I'm going to work at the mountain this winter(and hopefully future seasons)
