Mount hood summer ski camp

MHSSC is dope. I went there for 3 years, two as a camper and one as camper staff. It has a great down-to-earth vibe with awesome people. There are racers there too which isn’t a bad thing, it’s actually one of my favorite parts because you will meet people you wouldn’t otherwise. Don’t expect it to be anything like Windells - the camp facilities, programming, buses, park features, etc are not even near the same level as a place like Windells, as you can tell from the much lower price. But the somewhat janky, budget nature is exactly what makes the vibe so awesome. I reccommend cliff jumping, bringing your skateboard for the mini ramp, and bouncing on the tramp after skiing. The coaches are also super cool and sometimes pros - I had Shea Flynn my first year which was cool. I guarantee you will have fun, I wish I was still young enough to go!

I went to MHSSC a while back and what has been said is totally true. Aint no Windells but its so fuckin fun. Everyone is super chill, super low-key vibes, no stuck up people (at least when I went), and they have fun activities other than skiing. (like cliff jumping and mountain biking are hella fun and a nice break from skiing)

As far as the park setup goes, its not super crazy but still really fun. They usually have like 5 or 6 rails and a solid jump. But, because the coaches are always so chill you can mob to the public park which is always fire. especially this year they're gonna have a lot of snow for the summer so the public park might be the same size as the Windells park.

Overall, its a good time and your gonna be super stoked you went. Have fun dog!

Yeah like the other guy said MHSSC park is not going to be on the level of Windell’s but it has fun features and lapping pubby is sick. Really depends on snow level too - the last year I went it was super low tide so we had to hike over rocks to even get to pubby, couldn’t lap the mile lift, and MHSSC was pretty much just a PVC pipe lol. That kinda sucked but it was infinitely better than being at home watching ski videos. But it sounds like you’re in for a high snow summer so you’re all set!

Also because you're going for session 1, you're going to have A LOT more snow than session 10. (kinda nuts how much it melts in that time period)

High cascade (snowboard camp), Windells, and MHSSC. All three are private and Windells is definitely the best for skiers. MHSSC is generally set up below Windells park and they get ridiculously pissed if you’re not a camper and try to poach, in my experience. I once slid a down rail in Windells on my way down to MHSSC and they chased me down at high speed on a snowmobile to rip me and my coach a new one. So lol don’t do that or don’t get caught if you do.

Timberline is the resort’s public park (a.k.a. “Pubby”) set up more towards the middle main line for lift laps. It’s always set up nice with a pipe up top, a jump line and fun rails. So it doesn’t really matter which camp you go to since you can always lap that quality public park
