Worst Ski Experience

Whether it be a demo or a purchase
Have yall ever been stoked to ride a certain ski and then once your on it, its not at all what you expected or it was just total trash?

I demoed the soul 7's like 4 years ago and absolutely hated them. Did not expect them to be as floppy and unstable, looking back thats exactly what I should have expected.

Also rode some edollos and the tips were pretty buttery and the tails seemed way stiffer. I hated having such a difference between the tip flex and tail flex. Sold em after like 3 days of riding. Was not the ski for me.

Demoed a Line Chronic at an industry event last year, terrible ski. If you like this ski then you must have not tried other better skis. It is heavy as shit and sucks at mobbing around. Also Candice 2.0, was good, but I decided to test the flex before the first run, and ejected straight out, a lot softer than I expected.

what year was this? for 2018/19 chronic they stiffened it up a bit and made it wider underfoot. Theres a bunch of insta videos of this guy sending dubs on them in some pretty crudy bc terrain.
Dont have time for the link but they seem pretty good for all mountain riding.

I have this years chronic but its mounted -1.5 from core center and it seems to mob around fine, mounting it -3 seems money for an all mountain 96 underfoot ski

This was last year, skiing the new product for this year, the black ones with skulls. Idk man I just really was not feeling them after all the other stuff I skied that day.

Fair enough, I was jw because i never rode earlier chronics and was a bit surprised at how stiff they were this year. I expected them to be a lot softer.

Yeah I really expected them to be softer also. Also the Line reps that were there that day were kinda dicks and it threw me off

Candide 3.0s did not live up to their hype. Thought it would be a fun ski for spring days at Alta but way too light and chattery. Couldn’t hold up to chunder at all. Sold em to my buddy and he snapped them first week.

It’s not necessarily a bad experience but one I didn’t expect. I expected the magnus 90’s to be complete noodles but that’s not the case.

Hand flexing those in the shop. I can totally see that? What year did you ride? A friend was telling me they changed the cores for 2018 - 19 and from what Ive heard they havent been snapping as often.

I swear its almost false marketing watching candide ski those through some of the shit he does. You gotta be a pretty good skier to ski something that playful that fast.

I had 17/18 model. But ya Candide's personal skis have a different core.

Rode some DPS at a demo event to report back to a shop about. I thought they were fun, as well as a good power ski but not a quiver ski at all. The model i rode was really just meant for deep snow, hence the name dps i guess. I tried the Black Crows Nocta afterwords and my mind was blown. if I could afford a pair, I would be all over them.
