SPX 12 or Pivot 12

plates of the pivot 12 are metal, spx is plastic.
Pivot 12 has better retention and elastic travel.
Pivot 12 is marketed as a free ski binding where as spx 12 isnt as much.
pivot 12's have a shorter mount length allowing the ski to flex more

Overall pivot 12's are gonna last longer because they are a beefier binding and better suited for park skiing.

Not sure what else you want to know. You say you know pivot 12's are more durable, there really isnt much more to understand about bindings. They all legally have to release with the same amount of force. Price difference isnt that much, considering that the spx 12 will most likely break the minute you progress beyond the basics of park skiing.

if you buy spx 12 prepare to break your brakes all the time. I have never broken a brake on a pivot but i had the PX12s back in the day and was replacing brakes like crazy

I'd recommend comparing the Attack 13s, Pivot 12s, and STH2 13s instead.

If you don't want to spend a ton the Attack 13s are great because you can find them for $130-175 easily. I got the previous version (the toe's DIN window looks different but that's it... works the same) for $130 and I got my AAAttack2 13s (new version) for $200 because I wanted to give my local shop some business for all the mounting and bootfitting they do for me. I could have got the Attack2 13s for $150 online though. Usually you see them between $175 and $200 though so make sure you shop around.

Looking back, this^^^. Why are you limiting yourself to only 12 din bindings produced by look? Attack 13 is a great option if you want cheap. Look through the bst thread for a pair of griffons, sth 13, attack 13 or pivot 14.

I broke so many brakes on my SPX 12s. Would not recommend.

Completly forgot about attacks, SPX 12s are out of the question now, still might go with Pivots just because theyll last a century
