IanAvery-Leafalong the same lines - wondering if there's people out there who spin left, slide right foot forward, and can only hit rails switch to their unnatural left foot forward. I have recently been trying to force myself to hit rails switch to my natural right foot forward and have been skiing like an absolute squid/taking some ridiculous crashes, my brain just can't process switch over the right shoulder...
Holt_upI spin left and slide right foot forward. I ride goofy on a surfboard so that’s probably why
IanAvery-Leafmy post wasn't suggesting that's an unusual combo, because it's by far the most popular direction and stance for people. I was asking if anyone who falls in that most common category struggles to hit things switch to their right foot forward despite that being the natural foot when skiing forward, and therefore defaults to switch left foot forward

moe6From what I know, most humans naturally feel more comfortable turning left (not only spinning on skis). For example, most motorcycle racers also prefer courses which have more left than right turns.
I don't know the biological reason though.
If you think about it, that's also why most supermarkets will have you going through the market turning left - you feel more comfortable, stay longer, spend more money.
However, personally, I can only spin left going over jumps regularly, and can only spin right going switch - doesn't make any sense.

NarcopusI think anything that involves turning/spinning my body to the left always feels more natural. Whether it’s spinning, turning (in a car, skis, bike, whatever), parking, anything in which my body turns, left feels better
