Replying to Use worn-out Blizzaks/Snow tires in summer?

Before this season started I got a used Crosstrek with Blizzaks preinstalled. One thing I should have looked closer at before buying was how much tread was left.

They will last me for the rest of this season commuting on i70, but will for sure be useless for next season if I hold onto them.

Instead of having to buy all seasons in a couple months and then a new set of Blizzaks in November, I was hoping that I could just use my Blizzaks through the summer?

If they were at 75% tread or more I'd say no way; they'd be too sticky in the summer and I'd just wear them out too fast. But if they are already going to get replaced next winter, I figure I can just use them up completely this summer (accepting the risk of having bald tires in general... )

Anyone have experience doing something similar?
