ACID_I always put my boots on in the gondi....
One day I had some work done on my recons, pick them up in the morning. I go to put em on at the top and it turns out there the same 130 recon, just someone elses boot :(
ezavfor me it was the first day that i started learning 3s. one of my forst attempts and i rotated too early while i was still on the lip of the jump. caught my tails, got thrown off axis and i dont really remember the rest bc as soon as i hit the ground i passed out. busted my wrist and bruised my hip up pretty good too. i was still pretty dazed and had to drive home around an hour and a half.
DIRTYBUBBLEMLK day last season. Was like one of my last days living in Colorado. Went to ski Breck and all the lots were full. Decided to go so to Key and the lots were all full there too. Then I went to Abasin and all the lots there were full too. I got pissed and just hiked up some random hillside at Loveland pass.
SuspiciousFishMany years ago I was up at Schweitzer mountain and took the quad to the top to start my day on Lakeside chutes. Anyway it was pristine powder on the top 10% then I swear there was this line where the rain came up to and I was ripping hard at that point thinking it was going to be an awesome pow day. I hit the line onto horrid ice, double ejected and slid/tumbled almost to the bottom. When the top of your local ski hill is 6,000 ft you have to be prepared for these kind of things.
theabortionatorToday was pretty shit. Finally all the tourists cleared out of town. Was stoked for some birthday laps after work with the boys. Fucking windy as shit but still trying to ride. Were gonna go back to parks to film, all lifts went on lift hold.
Weather was garbage, snow was mediocre.
I did hike an s rail to down rail 35 ish times maybe more honestly to get a trick I wanted. Was so tired, wind was gnar, snowing, but got it and then bounce. Was nice to get that but was a pretty shot day otherwise.
Hopefully tomorrow is better.
30 years old. Wanted to get some nice laps in before heading to the retirement center.
SKRockiesWent to take a buddy out at the local hill, weather was shit, wind gusts of like 50-80 easy on the first lap. Snowing like a fucking Blizzard and all the light snow getting blown uphill. Try to hit some medium size jumps and case hard. Next lap case more jump idk why I even tried. Rails were sticky as fuck and I slammed my hip by getting stuck on a rail. Weather clears as I'm feeling like shit so I try to hold out for the guy I brought out. SW 180 to knuck again. Finish the night with an overshoot to the same hip on an easy 3 as the snow got faster. Called it a day there.
NicklebackFan420Jesus Christ, man. Kudos for sticking out that long would've called it a day after the first case lmao
had to be sent to Vancouver to see if they could save them
chiknmcplankslol, did they have to airlift the skis to the hospital?
NicklebackFan420I feel that. 20 years old and feel like my pension should be on its way soon. Too washed up for this shit.

theabortionatorTrue lol. But hopefully you got some more decent seasons in. 2011-12 was my first bad season. Broke my collarbone frist week, had a few surgeries, then broke my brain first day back in the spring, tore my knee late summer and only rode a couple days next year. Just kinda started a trend of bad seasons.
Now I'm just happy to get out even just some mellow pipe laps or fast groomers. It's rare that I get a day when I'm really feeling the park, but even on the worst days I'll usually hit a feature or two I'm comfy with and get a few decent tricks.
I'm alright with riding shitty though. Just hoping to stay healthy. Hope you're having a decent season though.
AbiHDrove 5 hours to copper to get front flip lessons
weastcoastHahaha.
AbiHWhy all the hate haha I’m so confused
reeskiHad the most depressing ski weekend in Jackson, although the mountain was insane and the conditions were decent. We literally hit the only week of February without any snow, and it has been snowing NONSTOP since we left. Literally the snowiest February ever. I had to stop following accounts on social media cause my FOMO is out of control.
Cammacuknowwoke up, and went to butternut. its the east coast, its -20, its icy af, the parks shit, mood is shit, and i somehow find myself falling off the fucking chair to ice. nothing happened i just started swinging at the air and swearing at the east coast snow gods. not one good fucking storm this whole season. march is in 4 days what the fuck is this shit? DO i have to spend thousands of dollars to hit decent snow, no ice and a good park? Somebody move me to CO
PizzaboiiiMidwest skis snow, East coast boys make do
Cammacuknowbuy me some fucking golf turf and dish soap and we good
Al.CaponeMy most disappointing ski day is the ski day I never had. I woke up at 6:00, made my coffee, made some sandwiches and left my house at exactly 6:30 (Alta opens 9:15). When I get a couple miles to the mouth of the canyon traffic is barely inching its way up. I finally get to the police checkpoint at 9:23 and am three cars away from getting up the canyon before they closed the road. Three fucking cars. It had snowed 20” overnight and and 11” the night before, hyped. I spent three hours waiting in traffic to have the pigs turn me around THREE fucking cars from one of the deepest days of the year, I was definitely sour for most of the day.

DeebieSkeebiesI turned around and gave up on the LCC/BCC canyon traffic scramble this year for the first time in my life, Traffic has always been an issue obviously but it feels like its reached all-time highs this year. And this was on that day SLC got blasted with like 20" overnight and a whole lot more up at snowbird/alta. They ended up being on interlodge the entire day but I flipped a U turn right at the park-n-ride and drove back to PC to get some runs in before the day ended. Not the most disappointing day but definitely could have been a bit better.
Most dissapointing day for me by far was having new skis jacked last season. I attempted to see if I could access their security footage but this resort host near the scene of the crime informed me that theres a blindspot in the cameras and that neither one would display much. Kind of bullshit. Made me think that if the roles were reversed and i was some rich dad here on vacation, they'd tear the place apart but no love for lowly resort workers I guess. PC police were somewhat helpful and let me know that there was a theft ring about in town and I wasn't the only one who were missing skis. Wasn't ever able to find them though.
Still looking for 2017/18 4FRNT Devastators (the black and neon yellow ones) with fresh pivot 18s. Barely skied a month on those puppies, too :(
IHUFFPAINTAt least the tourists clear out. Here in the shit state of Colorado they never leave.
theabortionatorIt's hit or miss. Most of the people here are from the bay area it seems. Even the ones that are locals are tourists. Omg snow?!?!? What do I do???
Got some park laps in today but snow was blowing sideways and parks were in mediocre at best shape. Still had a decent day hot lapping with friends. Just about blew our knees out on a jump 3 that shouldn't have been open but whatever. Hopefully nothing some ice and more than a few cocktails can't fix.
