natethegreattI'm picking up some new ski socks soon and it got me thinking....what do you guys do to layer your lower body? I've been looking at base and mid-layers for my upper body but I never really thought about my legs until now. I'm moving to Big Sky in a week, so I'd like to get all my gear ahead of time. Thanks in advance, y'all.
pinkcamo1000I always wear some wool long johns, but recently I bought some fleece pjs and cut them off into shorts to wear under my pants (which are just a shell) when I'm skiing. Super warm, don't get in the way of my boots, and only cost 10 bucks
tomPietrowskiI generally use the 260 thread count Ice breaker base layer. If its cold I have the Orage hybrid pant which has some synthetic down to the upper leg. Those and a good base you will be set in all temps. I have shell and insulated pants but generally only wear the insulated when im stood on hill doing demos.
freeskibum82I need to get those hybrid pants. How's the fit on them? Im usually a medium for baselayers from TNF, UA, Craft, and IB. Our shop just picked up Orage after a brief hiatus.
tomPietrowskiYou should be good with a med. have you seen next seasons range yet from Orage? Some seriously nice stuff. Orage is coming back and I’m stoked.
freeskibum82yessir. have the info from Outdoor retailer show. Orders placed. Stuff looks amazing. all i can say is id like to try out their Dermizax with primaloft offerings. I guess spyder is coming out with a pair of baselayers like the hybrid as well.
btw, ill be in whistler next week. praying they get some fresh snow.
