Any problems you see with an insert going this deep? Please see pic. Note: there is some black on the sidewalls, so the insert shown is indeed sitting flush to the top sheet. Thanks for the help. Ski is a Kastle FX85 HP.

FreddoBumpsYeah, grinding is something I’ve considered. The other is to use a thin plate between the top sheet and binding - probably of plastic - to which the insert mounts flush; it would raise them out of the ski a bit. Overall, I feel I’m trying too hard to make them work.
Out of curiosity, though, where have you seen smaller inserts?
To your eye, how much shorter is needed? Think 1mm would do it, or does it need 2mm?
Thanks for the thoughts.
supersquidAny update on this? Interested to see what the end solution was.
FreddoBumpsI haven’t made any headway. I was scrambling to get a few pairs set up before a trip (on which I lost my phone 😡), but I couldn’t get it done. I’ll try grinding the dome end to start, but I may have to grind both ends. It may not end up being worth the effort, but I’ll check back in.
supersquidword, also what you goin for? touring/resort ski? or just want to be able to change mounting points? Was wanting to share my Shifts among skis (tour and resort) and was considering a second set per ski for demo bindings so I could share with my son/friends (resort). It looks to be cheaper/less risky to just put another set of demo bindings on the resort skis.
