Forecast and Ascent magazine are two great ones but might be tough to get your hands on depending on where you live. Also if you want to learn about things staying alive in avalanche terrain is a solid read.

Awesome - thanks for the recommendations. I'll be living in Montana so I'll have to see if those are available out there.

I’m in Bozeman and ascent definitely is, if you’re out this way try to track down an issue of the modern hunter... it’s not skiing but still an amazing publication.
