15 YEAR OLD ASSAULTED BY 40 YEAR OLD, NOTHING DONE ABOUT IT. PLEASE RE-SHARE.

Long story short, a close friend of mine was skiing with a bunch of other friends and I yesterday (Sunday the 10th). He is 15 years old and is pretty decent in the park. He gets cut off on a jump, collides with the guy (40 years old) they both go airborne, and when my friend tries to get back up, the 40 year old guy is on top of him. He says “I don’t care if you’re f***ing 15 years old, you stupid motherf***er. The guy proceeds to punch him, and gives my friend a big gash in his lip from his braces.

All 5 of us (we were all witnesses) chase the guy down to the lift, follow him up the lift, and hold him at the top of the lift while I run over to get slope security. A I bring slope security over to the man, and he asks him for his season pass or a ticket. The man presented neither. Then all 5 of us tell the story and how my friend (Dylan) was pretty much tackled and punched. The slope security officer (FRANK LYONS) did absolutely nothing about this situation. Rather, he made both sides apologize (Dylan did not apologize, he did not need to anyway).

The slope security officer let a man away who
1. Assaulted a god damn 15 year old kid.
2. Didn’t even have a pass.

The slope security officer also did not even ask for the mans name.

ALSO, MANY MANY PEOPLE SAID THIS SIMILAR SITUATION HAPPENED TO THEM BEFORE AND HOW NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT.


My friends’ parents have already contacted police over the situation and they are handling it.

BUT,

NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT.

FUCK 7 SPRINGS AS A WHOLE (except park crew). YOU LET A GROWN MAN ASSAULT A 15 YEAR OLD KID.

YOU GUYS SHOULD HE FUCKING ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES.

I'm being the devil's advocate. I know NS'ers 2nd fav sport is dickriding but this story is super one sided. There's usually 3 sides to every story. Yours, theirs, and the truth.

Oh brother east coast jump lines are a zoo on weekends. The farther south you go it just gets worse and worse. People are always chillin where you can't see or cut right into the landed for who knows what reason.
Not saying who was in the right in this case but I know for a fact theres a chance homeboy went under the lip when the kid was already on the jump and there wasnt anything he could do

Probably more deetz to the story. I never jump on a side early in these. That said it's fucking hilarious that people are saying it's ok to beat people in the park because you're mad.

Get the fuck out of here with that shit. I don't care if you're old and crusty and the kids play on your lawn, use your damn words people. Shit happens but the "Back in my day we fought anyone about anything" makes you seen like a giant douche.

Shit happens, emotions get brought in, but damn.

The security guy dropped the ball most by not taking down peoples info if this seemed like it was going to be a big deal.

One problem is that people are generally full of shit about their side of the story on the mountain. Hell remember the lady that punched the snowboarder at Northstar and then had a go fund me and petition(turned out she was the douche in the situation).

It's really tough to know. I've seen a 8 or 9 person brawl in the park where we had to call the cops. Some guy put my friend(park crew) in a headlock because of something. Can't remember what happened. I had a guy try to fight me with a ski pole at gore because I almost hit him aka he side jumped and almost smoked me on a rail take off.

Kids can be douchers, old people can be douchers, everyone can be douchers.

Don't do it in the park.

If somebody hits your car do you get out and start punching them? People die in car accidents all the time. If they're in a man sized car you should treat them like a man and fight them right?

Much toughness. It sounds like you either have serious anger problems, or are running the internet tough guy dealio. If you think it's cool to punch people in the face in the park because they have "some hard lessons to learn" you're a douche.

I would suggest you and your tapout shirt wearing squad find a more tranquil activity. Take up knitting or bird watching or something. Inb4 your blood boils because you drop your binoculars and you climb a tree to strangle a canary. Or stab your friend with a knitting needle because they distracted you and made you fuck up your quilt. Violence is always the answer.

That's kinda apples and oranges man. If someone's riding my ass for no reason and when traffic slows and they hit me, why shouldn't I be pissed? The accident was avoidable. I'm not gonna rage, but I'm definitely gonna ask wtf they were thinking after I make sure everyone is ok.

What matters even more is how they would handle it after the collision.

Things are so much better when people just admit when they fuck up.

If they say 'chill I'm just 16' or 'fuck you for going slow' not apologize and try to get back in their car like nothing happened what would you do? Just let them drive off? 'Shit happens' right? Nah fuck that.

My main points are
1.)Don't clip someone. There's really no good excuse. You're responsible for downhill skier nomatter how frustrating that is.
2.) If you DO clip someone, expect them to be be pissed, so make sure they're alright, and do anything you can to make amends.

I don't understand why people think that if they ski or drive aggressively in congestion and make a mistake that it couldn't escalate to an ass beating if they handle it the wrong way (which it very much how the kid handled it)

Here’s the main thing. The jump was after a left turn berm on a cross course. The guy cuts my friend off but he actually was going faster than my friend. He comes up behind him kinda and pops into my friends line of vision at the last second and he made it seem like it was my fiends fault

But meanwhile those slope security douchebags will harass us park kids when we literally do nothing wrong. If you forget your pass, they literally do a fucking background check on you pretty much. They’ve literally taken so many peoples passes for forgetting the pass once and still getting the “forgot pass” ticket. Fucking cunts.

This sums up my thoughts pretty well. Nobody here knows what truly happened. Also, it’s just a fat lip. If your friend was brutally beaten in the face, eyes swelled shut, loose teeth, lots of blood etc then people at the mountain would have helped you out. But they didn’t, which leads me to believe it wasn’t that bad. Post pictures of your friends injury, post a video, post some proof.

I feel you man, being a teenager sucks cause nobody really takes you seriously. Some of that is justified, your friend should have apologized, even if it wasn't his fault at all. tbh he kind of sounds like a shithead. I apologize to people all the time on the ski hill, even if it was just a near miss cause they were sitting right below a blind rollover and I was going mach a billion. I think the best thing for you to do is tell your parents about it, it's unfortunate but the hill will listen to them a lot more than they will listen to you.

How I see it is they collided because he got cut off going off a jump, this implies that it was before because if it was indeed a dude sitting in the landing it would’ve been mentioned and unavoidable. Tip for next time: the jump will be there next run, if you see someone skiing around in front of you when you’re in the run in, just bail out and wait for next lap so you can hit it again and not have a bashed in lip. That being said the retaliation of the older guy was not chill, but next time it can be easily avoided.

So your friend was using a cross jump as a trick jump and was actually snaking everyone who was using the race course for its intended purpose? This is why no one trusts punk kids to tell the truth.

I'll actually side with OP on this.

Picture if this happened but instead of being on a ski mountain, it was at a playground or a city park. 15 year old kid is playing frisbee and accidentally runs into the 40 year old, who reacts by punching the kid. It's pretty obvious the 40 year old should be charged in that scenario. So why is it so much of a gray area when it happens in a ski resort?

Teenagers can exaggerate stories, sure. But that's not up to the ski patrol / ambassador to decide, it's up to the justice system because yes, punching a stranger is a criminal offence. It doesn't matter if the kid was negligent by being rowdy on the hill, that doesn't negate the criminality of punching someone.

But that's not what happened? I'd be pretty upset if someone hit my mom with my car but after reading the thread I'm pretty sure that's not what people are talking about.

I don't think I'll get through to you, but I'll do my best. If you clip me, I'm going to be pissed. If you apologize and take responsibility for your actions, I'm going to be less pissed but I'm still gonna let you know you're a clown for being reckless.

If you clip me, and say some ignorant shit like 'chill I'm 15' acting like that just evaporates the consequences of your actions into thin air, my blood will boil. If you don't apologize or own up, imma lose my shit. If you're man sized, Imma treat you like a man. If you're a child, I'm gonna ask where your parents are and if they're ignorant clowns, I'm gonna want to throw down with them.

Why react in violence? People die/get injured when getting clipped and there's no excuse for hitting someone. I'll standup for myself if you don't take responsibility for your actions because I know ski patrol won't do it for me. I have the right to ski and not be worried about getting hit.

Some of you boys have some hard lessons to learn. I hope you don't have to get popped in the jaw to learn 'em.

OP: Listen son, regarding whatever perceived injustice you think occurred, you will never get anywhere in life with a victim mentality. Your buddy is fine and should have kept his head on a swivel in the park. Hopefully this serves as a valuable lesson to you boys.

As a former 15 year-old, I find it strange that a 15 year old's first response would be "I'm 15 I'm 15 I'm 15." I would've just socked the guy back and taken it from there...I was also a shithead when I was 15...
