a_burgerWith this logic why have parks at all? A patroller was telling me years ago they had someone skip every rail in the park and clear a jump by 120ish feet past the knuckle. Somehow didn’t die but what can you do about people like that? Stop building jumps? Skiing is inherently dangerous, there’s going to be risks regardless of what’s on your head.
The helmet debate is such a dead horse I don’t really want to go any further and it sucks that someone died, but people need to take responsibility for their actions.
EXACTLY. Liam Neeson's wife died after she fell on a
beginner slope. If at any point skiing you hit a tree or a rock at the wrong angle, you could easily snap your neck. Does this mean people should stop skiing, even on beginner slopes? Even our everyday lives are filled with risk, such as driving or crossing the street. We should take necessary precautions, but understand that most sports and many activities are inherently dangerous. And despite this, we can use learned reactions, finesse, and techniques to keep ourselves safe 99% of the time.
