Salomon QST 106 vs 118

elijahabbottCant decide which ski for new setup, going to New Zealand for their winter to ski then coming back and going to Canada or Montana for next winter. Starting to get into backcountry free riding. Also From Washington so I ski a good amount of powder days but the snows sometimes wet and heavy.

Trust me you're not gonna want 118 as a daily in nz, even 106 might be a bit much

Figured, i have a set of Volkol Revolt 95 which I will be riding as well and probably will be using for the resort skiing. What about for backcountry skiing?

For backcountry (based off my experience in Aus (I've never skied bc in NZ)) you're going to want the 106 99 times out of 100. In Aus 100mm is pretty much the sweetspot for a bc ski, and NZ gets a bit more snow normally, so easy conclusion. BUTTTT idk how this works for the nh side of things so might need more input

106 without a doubt

You will pretty much never need anything over 110 in NZ conditions
