Staying entertained while injured

Shower_BoySo I dislocated my elbow and broke my hand skiing last weekend and at first it was chill just binging Netflix but its getting old real quick. Anyone have any ideas for hobbies I could pick up for the next 6 weeks?

It's been one week since I tore both my MCL and ACL. I'm not having surgery on it because I hope to ski again this season. I live on-resort anyway until May and the resort is open until April. With that in mind I have been getting out to walk, spending time out of my brace, eating healthy, keeping social and also going to the awesome public library.

One thing I highly suggest you do is some kind of exercise, I couldn't walk for the first two days and was on crutches for days 1-3. Every time I stand up and walk around or stretch it made my knee feel better not worse. Especially focus on the muscles around your injury, you will be happy you did this when you get on the mountain again.

Replace skiing with something productive you can do around the same time of day like reading, exercise, artwork, or learn about a topic like economy, politics or whatever you're interested in. Try not to dwell on how you could be skiing, that was really bad for me in the first few days when the weather had been super nice after a bout of fresh snow.

Drink a bunch of cheap Scotch and tattoo your face like Leigh Powis.

Maybe learn how to draw or get some good books. The Flashman series is probably my favorite, especially if you like hilarious degeneracy and historical fiction.

Yeah that's a tough one. The first time I broke my collarbone I had a a couple surgeries on it. Luckily could play xbox with the controller to the side. Actually still held the controller to my side long after I was healed, got so used to it.

Idk. Feet work I'd say hike a bunch if the weathers not shit. Even if the weather is shitty it beats sitting around inside feeling bad for yourself.

Browse newschoolers and try and make a goal of how many useless posts you can make in X amount of time (personal favorite)

Plan out your life or ski trips you wanna do in your future

Organize your computer and phone

Don't do what I did and turn to drugs. I used to smoke weed for fun, now my whole lifestyle surrounds it and it sometimes sucks. I went from a skier who likes weed to a stoner who likes to ski and it's not good
