Tyrolia attacks vs attack 2s

looking at the attack 2s it looks like there is hardly any extension of the bindings toe bracket to wrap around the sides of the front of your boot. For this reason the attacks look like a more secure binding than the attack 2s. Anybody tried both bindings? Are the new attack 2s legitimately better?

I've ski'd all of them and the all retain & release predictably & ski great!

ive heard that the only difference is the toe piece..

Redesigned toe piece on the attack2. IMO it looks bulkier and I think weighed 50 grams? heavier than the originals but Id assume they have the same reliability

Hmm. Do the attack 2s have as much coverage on each side of the front of the boot though?

The toe has been redesigned to accept GW(Grip Walk) boots and for better smoother release. They gained about 40grams for the set with the change so still much lighter than most bindings out there. When adjusted properly, any Attack binding holds VERY securely onto any boot. Many free ride and freestyle pros running Attacks without issue.
Fantastic bindings and my last 10 pairs of skis have had both the original and Attack2 without one pre-release. Any issues that I’ve ever seen has been to poor adjustment.

I like the looks of the Attack2 toe a bit better and that fact that it can accept GW boots will help keep them up to date for resale but don’t notice a difference in how they ski at all. Used to be a price advantage when they were blowing out old stock but you can get deals on Attack2 now. Just get the Attack2.

You probably can't buy Attack 1's anywhere. Attack 2 is a solid binding. Currently running 3 sets. Happy with them as I traditionally run STH's.

I bought a set of new attack1 16 about a yr ago for cheap and still havent mounted them. Im trying to decide if i want to mount them on my new skis or just buy another set of attack2 13 which i had on my last skis and i loved.

If the attack 1’s are just as good ill just use them but if the attack2 is any better ill just kop a pair bc they are pretty cheap only like 150

Also the attack2s look sick imo. Im surprised i didnt see more ppl riding them the other week in pc. Like literally nobody in the lift line had attack2s idk why maybe ppl dont like their look/non-streamlinedness.

Just run the 16s they are way burlier than the 13s.

You can get Attack2 16 on huge deals too right now and you could have the current version with the beefier metal heel. $179 CAN at Corbetts.

Next year they are slightly redesigned and go to DINs of 14 and 17 so I’m sure all the Attack2 13, 16 and 18 will all be blown out before next season!

The heels on the original attack and current version are the same, just the toes have been redesigned and updated to accept GW(Grip Walk) boots. The attack2 are slightly heavier with those toe updates. So if you don’t have GW boots, the originals are fine.
