Gwyneth Paltrow sued for $3.1 mil death pizza crash
Gwyneth Paltrow is sued for $3.1MILLION after leaving a Utah doctor with a brain injury and broken ribs in an 'out of control' hit-and-run ski crash on a beginner slope in 2016
jjdsteezei read that too but it also said she hit the man from behind. how can you be the downhill skier and crash into someone from behind?
It's possible to ski up a hill and crash right into someone that is standing still. Article said one witness said the guy was standing still. In any case the law says all parties have to remain at the scene and exchange information. Even if you are not at fault and get creamed you can't just ski away.
-eREKTion-Article says that she was the downhill skier, if thats true than she had the right of way and this jabroni caused the crash.
That's the bullshit her and her instructor are claiming.
"This case involves a hit-and-run ski crash at Deer Valley, Utah, where Defendant Gwyneth Paltrow skied out of control and hit the back of Terry Sanderson, another skier, who was downhill, knocking him down hard, knocking him out, and causing a brain injury, four broken ribs and other serious injuries,' states the legal filing."
I have zero doubt she's at fault, that's why she took off.
Fuck anyone who skis so out of control they hit someone.
No dont quit skiing. Just dont go to big resorts. Stay in low density areas and this wont be a problem.
It was an accident. She was with an instructor... too bad that instructor was as bad as they come. But what gives the case value is the hit and run factor. If someone knocked me out by crashing, I would like him to check on me.
I was really hoping to make a "stuff it up where her products go" joke, but its wasnt applicable here.
From what I gather he has been dealing with the injuries and ongoing symptoms of a bad concussion (which I’ve had and can relate to), also he had trouble with a few lawyers before his current representation it seems, couldn’t find more info about why exactly. 3 mil is steep but if it is true I think he deserves something and as an ex ski instructor this whole thing grinds my gears.

Ski hills are filled with some of the biggest jerk offs I've met in my life. People who don't realize that outside the ski industry they are literally nobody. Plus the injuries never go away, you fuck your knee - I don't care if you make 20 billion dollars and let it heal for 20 years; you're still gonna feel it unless you develop an opioid addiction.
That shit scares me. I've had a number of close calls, but never been in a serious collision. What scares me the most is when jerries stop at the bottom of rollers in areas generally safe for high speed skiing. A couple weekends ago, I was taking some speed into a roller, on a familiar trail at my home mountain. As I approached the start of the transition, where I would have normally popped, in order to gap to the transition of the following roller, I saw a small child, probably new to skiing. I then had to pull my legs up to absorb the roller to give me the traction necessary turn and avoid what could have been a serious incident.
I also really think that parks need to take entries and exits to parks more seriously. I recently got in a disagreement with an adaptive sports employee (no hate toward adaptive sports programs!) who guided a physically disabled skier directly into the landing path in the middle of a jump line of a crowded park. I pointed out to the employee (appeared to be in his 50's or 60's) that it is extremely dangerous to enter a jump line by jutting in from the trail next to the park. His response was that this was a beginner trail, and experienced skiers needed to treat it as such, and then skied away. This park had the typical orange sign at the beginning of the jump line, which gives a brief explanation of park etiquette, and clearly states that one needs to call their drop when entering the park. I apologize for ranting, and could go on about this all day, but I think it is important on a thread about liability and injury on a site typically used by park skiers that we respect the rules, and make every effort possible to avoid unnecessary danger.
Stay safe out there, it only takes a short lapse in focus (if even that) to ruin your or someone else's life.

Idk, I was doing a grind on some tiny box one time and my ski popped off for no reason but I landed the trick with the ski right near me so I picked it up, went to the side of the hill to put it back on, and I start to hear "sorry sorry sorry SORRY SORRY" and get plowed from behind by some kid. Apparently he had ample enough time to apologize but not steer clear of me.

It definitely sounds like shes at fault, but more so the resort because the instructor basically tried to protect her because shes rich and probably paid them a lot of money and was famous.

If there is one thing I fucking hate its Bunny Hill Heroes. Its like the idiots who do a burnout in a parking lot and act like they are as cool as the guys who actually thrown down at the local track.
