Detuning edges

It will affect for sure but if you ski park like i assume your edges will dull in couple weeks anyway. Personally when i get new skis i just ski outside of park for week or two and enjoy my sharp edges but after that i detune them and take them to park

You don't need to de-tune. You just need to tune for rails. This means a very long base bevel that extends into the base plastic.
Eventually the edges will get destroyed where you bang them on a rail.

Yeah, I have dropped them off to my local shop for detuning since I don’t feel like I have the equipment and expertise to do it myself. And I should say that I have a pair of race skis but sometimes I’m just to lazy to switch or I have forgotten them at home oh well

For mine I run them angled through the belt at the shop and keep angling them underfoot until they're pretty much round

It will effect it but will you notice? Depends on where you ride and the skiing you do. I mean if it's mainly a park ski it doesn't matter and it's going to detune naturally anyways like others have said. I'd recommend doing a "soft" detune by just using a flat metal and a gummy stone. I just detuned my Wets and what I did was do several different runs at different angles so that it had an almost round edge underfoot. I then got it wet and cleaned it off, dried it, then took the gummy stone to it. I also used to gummy stone when it was a bit damp to really pick up all the crud. It worked well and isn't overtuned at all.

Wear gloves btw, I didn't and have metal in my knuckle and cuts all up my right hand.
