Is 95 waist width okay?

I’m looking for new skis with which I can ride all mountain (incl. carving) and a fair amount of offpiste while being 100% capable of handling the park. Is a waist width of 95 good for this purpose, since I’d want to be able to carve with them on groomers too? Specifically I was looking at the Völkl revolt 95, Armada ARV 96, but willing to hear suggestions (just not CTs since I don’t like em)

Well, the 96's are hella good in the park and have quite good carving performance for a park ski imo. Though I should say that 95~ waist is too narrow for off piste since I believe you're talking about powder? I would be looking more into the >100mm range if you want some more serious off piste performance, I think ARV 106's would fit your preferences quite perfect.

I love my ARV 96's I literally bring them everywhere. Most snow I've been in is about a foot and considering I have them center mounted they floated like a dream. I've done trees with them aswell and they turn perfectly. Also they are gods in the park. Pretty biased but I like them more than my 2016 chronics which I had some issues with them out of the park.

K2 Poacher sounds like something you'd be looking for. It's gotten rave reviews.
Park skis can be up to 100mm wide no problem, i.e. Blends. Go fatter than 95. Many pro park skiers use 98mm wide park skis, such as Edollo.

K2 Poacher, 96 ON3P Kartel, Moment PB&J, Icelantic Nomad 95s or Armada ARV 96s are what I would be personally looking at. I'd personally favor the Poacher or the Kartels but all are great choices.

WoosK2 Poacher, 96 ON3P Kartel, Moment PB&J, Icelantic Nomad 95s or Armada ARV 96s are what I would be personally looking at. I'd personally favor the Poacher or the Kartels but all are great choices.

I keep seeing these skis come up in suggestions because they're great skis but getting them in Euroland is cost prohibitive. It costs like $200 on top of what you or I would pay for them in the states.

Take a look at Amplid, Majesty, Down, Movement etc if you want indy brand stuff in the eurozone.

From what I hear on3p will deduct the cost of import tax from the retail price so that us Eurolanders can still get them at a vaguely affordable price.
Can't confirm 100% though.

For OP - 95mm will be totally fine for all mountain use including powder, yeah a fat ski will be more fun in the really deep stuff but if you are a decent skier you can go anywhere on a 95mm ski

I'd go K2 Poachers at that point. You can get those in Europe dude.

Yeah totally. Armada and bent chetler 100 mentioned earlier as well. Black Crows is another option and I'$ sure there are a bunch more. There was a thread a while back with obscure ski brands from around the world.

iirc Black Crows doesn't make skis that are bidirectional so they wouldn't work for park

OP isn't looking for a symmetrical park ski but rather an all-mountain ski for off piste and park capable. Camox fits this description. The captis is also park capable all-mountain but it's narrower (90mm waist iirc) and therefore not great for off piste/fresh snow.

I'm just suggesting skis that might fit the bill and are readily available in Europe. The only ski I've owned in this area is the ARV 96 which is a fun ski and would be a good option for OP.

Wouldn’t hesitate on the arv96. Loved my dollos and now my arv106. Only reason I didn’t get another pair of dollos was I wanted a slightly stiffer nose, and I wasn’t too keen on the sizing of the arv96 with 177? Being too short and the next length up a bit long

Factions are designed in Switzerland and a Swiss brand, but last time I checked they were made in Poland I think
