I tried to find a thread on this but couldnt, either way:

What is the most expensive thing you have dropped off a lift?

Did you recover it?

Was it or was it not figgity fucked up?

I dropped a mitt the other day and recovered it, it was fine as one would assume but it made me think of posting this.

I dropped a single pole. Not expensive but I felt like a bit of a gaper skiing back down to get it. Also sucked because I didn’t want to ski back down under the lift, was planning on traversing off somewhere else.

Haha yes! Nothing worse than taking a wrong turn or having to go back to a fucked lift line without a choice. I too felt pretty silly. didn't even know I dropped it to be honest. Fortunately a very cool ski patrol lady who was one chair behind me took note of the exact location and told me where to go.

This is pretty unrelated cause nothing expensive was lost, but one time I got gloves that were complete shit before a week long ski trip. They got torn up and my hands were always cold and they sucked. On the last lift ride up of the week I threw them on top of one of the lift support poles where there’s a little platform. I wonder if they’re still there haha

Watched one of my homies mittens fall right off one of the lifts @ snowbird. We had multiple search attempts later that day but the mitts carcass was never found. It's likely an unfortunate hiker will stumble across it upon the melt in the spring.. RIP

I dropped my phone the other day. It was in a roped off area under the lift. I was watching a video from my previous run and as I put it in my jacket, it slid out without me realizing until the top. It took me two runs to find it. Luckily it had a mark where it slid in. Still works.

Checked your home mountains, you ever skiied out west? Well, there are chairs that service expert runs where if your drop your shit its roasted, and you arent getting it back. It gets real steep out here.

Ouch, lets hope someone found it. Dropped a pack of cigarettes with a couple joints in it the other day (not on a lift just somehow). I would like to hope someone found it who would use it.

Yeah man. There are spots where you cant go after it. Im not calling you out. You just sound kind of ignorant. I was literally at mammoth last week over spots where youd def lose your gear. You arent getting it every time, which is why i made this thread. Ive seen you go i hella hard on threads so im not gonna get into it with you im just saying sounds like you dont really know what you are talking about brotha.

this fall in Breck I dropped a mitten that I was trying to clear of snow that my baby brother had sprayed into it just before getting on. my whole family had to ski the very sketchy early season lift line and my dad was pissed... someone had picked it up and brought it down anyway. after grabbing the mitten from the liftie I went to stick my poles under my leg, forgot I was skiing on my brothers skis (much longer than mine), dropped the tip down where it got caught in the snow and pushed the chair up causing my best friend and I to face plant off of it. all in all kind of a shit show of a morning

If it was from a dispensary or just in a dry area 40 an eighth isnt that crazy. Still high though. Im gettin zips at 80-140 depending on quality over here in cali.

Damn that sucks, reminds me of the time I saw a couple dialing on one phone and listening for the ring. I just did a quick stop to figure out what was up and was like 15 feet up from them, looked down and saw a white iphone ringing. Just picked it up and skiied it down to the people and they were hella stoked. Feels good to return peoples shit.
