Flat light lens.. recommend a goggle.

been riding eg2s for 7 or so seasons. Love the frame shape and have no complaints other than the lens. East coast flat/low light is the regular condition I end up riding in, and went to their yellow green lens full time a couple of seasons ago. They are killer in flat light when the brose lens I also have is nearly unusable. I have read about prizm, Chromapop and electrics photochrome tech and think it may be something worth looking into. Looking for a lens that performs as well in flat but can be a bit more useable when the sun peeks out. Any advice appreciated. Going to see what local shops have to try on as far as other brands frame shapes go. But figure the lens is really what I am interested in. Seems people either prefer one or the other between smith and Oakley’s tech.

I personally really like the Anon Blue Lagoon lens. Lets 80% of visible light through so it's amazing in flat light, fog, whiteout, etc, but still protects your eyes if the sun peeks out between clouds.
Prizm is a pretty cool technology too, because it adds a lot of contrast to the snow, but I don't know about their flat light lenses.

I'm all for my lowlight chromapop lenses on my io7s. Great lenses

Smith blue sensor mirror/ chromapop equivalent and the giro zeiss vivid infrared are both great flat light lenses.

Honestly almost every company other than like Electric (personally hate their lenses) and a few others has one or more great lens for flat light situations. Personally my favorite goggles are the Smith Squad XLs, Oakley Line Miners, and the Spy Aces. As far as what I currently use for this sort of weather is the following: On my Squads I run ChromaPop Storm Rose and on my Aces I have Happy Yellow w/ Lucid Green lenses. I'm more of a rose/pink lens guy but my Level 1 Aces just happened to come with Happy Yellow but I'm really digging the performance. I need more time with my Storm Roses by Smith before I can tell you what I like more. If I went with Line Miners I would have went with Prizm Rose or Prizm Hi Pink (most likely).

BTW I should mention that I forgot my Happy Bronze w/ Silver Spectra lens as well as my clear lens so I had to wear my Happy Yellow w/ Lucid Green ones all day. It started out bright and blue but turned grey later in the day. I then skied under the lights from 5-9pm (many areas having few lights) and these goggles performed well in every situation. Would other lenses have worked better for certain times? Sure. But for having a one lens quiver I was very satisfied. Blue lenses would have been semi similar however I wouldn't trust them at night. I bet it's the yellow that made night skiing so great and the green that helped earlier in the day. Pretty cool.
