Anybody familiar with the downfall of element: do you think the ski industry will follow the same trend?

Element thought it was going to be the next nike, but the skate culture saw elements store in times square nyc and basically said “fuck off element youre not cool” and element ate shit and died pretty quickly. Do you think the same thing would happen in the ski industry?

It was cool for a while i agree. But at a certain point they started acting like they were holier than other skate brands and word spread about how shitty they treated their team riders. Their first two vids were great but i think they hippied out with their “dead against hunting” deck line and their hippy skate camps and shoe line. I think the core of skater culture is always to be original and one big company dominating skateboarding doesnt mesh with that.

Can you clarify what you mean by "downfall"? I'm not really familiar with the world of skateboarding, but a quick google search indicates that they are one of the largest and most successful brands, with estimated $12mil annual profit. I see that their value took a hit after they were bought by Billabong and then Billabong overextended itself. But to me it looks like Billabong's mismanagement was the problem and Billabong were the ones who ultimately took the financial hit.

Also, not sure how this is related to the ski industry. Help us follow your thought process here.

My brother and i are good friends with jake rupps
Ex wife.
Rupp was a long time pro for element.
She has talked at length about how element has been losing its pros and not taking care of the pros they have.
She said element is slowly rolling back into the ocean because they run their company really shittily

So their downfall is that some chick with a personal vendetta is badmouthing them? I think we’re gonna need more than that to be convinced that the brand has “fallen” in some way.

Her husband who had kids with her was one of elements biggest and long term pros. She didnt have a vendetta, but she knew about 100 people in the element company.
If thats not good enough for you then go fishing for yourself
