Wich Ski-length should I get (freeride)

i can't comment on the factions but the arv 116 is basically the JJ, right? if so that's a very short-feeling ski, so if youre a good skier i don't see any reason to be scared of that size. when i skied JJs i (hated them, and) wished i'd sized way up

very welcome. hopefully others will chime in but that's a subjective claim im comfortable making... everyone seems to agree that the JJs ski very short for their size

As said above aggressive and fast doesn’t agree with the JJ and the tour layup will make it even worse.

They’re way too soft and way too hooky for skiing fast in variable snow. They deflect like crazy and hook up and get drawn off course all the time. If you want to ski fast in anything that isn’t perfect pow they just don’t work well. At least I couldn’t make them work.

lots of people love them but some hate them like i do. i think it's mostly that theyre light and soft and their 5 point geometry makes them not want to commit to a hard set turn while you drive the tips of your skis... they seem to want to skip over and around stuff and make dad turns

you might love them (like many, many others do) but if you're coming from charging or racing skis, you might not like the way they behave. i prefer skis with more balls that want to bite into turns and stay on a track. i think i'm in the minority ON THIS SITE though, in this opinion... can you demo them first?

i don't-- i've hardly ridden any of them. but i really doubt they suffer from the same (subjective) problems, based on their geometry/specs/style. im pretty sure it's mostly the 5 point sidecut that i hate so much about JJs

but again... at least on this site i am totally in the minority on disliking JJs. so take my opinion with a grain of salt
