dude MSP, TGR, Sherpas, and Warren Miller have all put out good movies, but they have all put out some garbage as well. I can name at least 1 bad movie put out by all of those companies.

IMO every Newschool skier should at least see PBP 13, MSP Ski Movie III, IDEA, Refresh, and Video Entertainment by The Trashparty

My first ever ski movie i fell in love with was Attack of la Nina, so I'm pretty partial to that one. Its super goofy and the park segments arnt great but I still watch it just about every year and the sean pettit/richard permin part is still insane. Also has a cool seg with alex schlopy and jacob wester hitting pow in silverton CO.

Otherwise, I would say:
- GNAR
- Eye trip
- Sunny
- Move 1 and 2
- Idea
- the 86
- wild stallions (meathead films)
- mutiny
- valhalla
- BE inspired
- light years
- ten and two

I could probably add a couple more but i'd say these are the ones not to be missed

Refresh, Eye Trip, and any Stept movie. As for older stuff, I'd say Teddybear Crisis, which is the only older movie I have.

I skied with some 16 year olds the other day and was very surprised that they didn't know what Level 1 and had never seen a movie from them. All they seemed to be watching was game of Slvsh. They didn't even know what Line Traveling Circus and Tabarnak Pack was.

That second part is just to disappointing. I think you need to find some cooler 16 year olds to ski with.

Fun fact about Blizzard of Aaahhs: Glenn Plake got busted in CA with 40 lb of shrooms in his car when it broke down on the highway. They had not tested the shrooms yet and let him out of jail temporarily. Plake then talked his way into the movie so he could skip out to Europe to avoid prosecution. He didnt even tell any of the crew until the were about to fly back. Once the movie dropped and was successful the producers pulled some legal strings and got him back in the US with a lighter sentence.

Heard him talking about this in a PodCast interview recently. He literally refused to come home. I believe he actually did some time in jail.

Was it the Powell Movement? That is actually where I heard the story from lol. That was a great interview, definitely makes you think about some of the things we take for granted in our sport.

If so "the great Siberian transverse" is a banger.

On a slightly unrelated note, My favorite action sports film ever was "where the trail ends" just because the china segment, it looked like they were skiing on mountain bikes .

First ski movie I saw was Rastafaride 1. Came free with a magazine. I have so many favourites (especially CLAIM), but got to be Rastafaride for introducing Candide!

I particularly love the smaller homemade movies. Big production ones are beez kneez don't get me wrong, but it's more fun for me to watch homies skiing and having a good time doing it.
