Replying to The Problem with the “Core Only, Locals Only” guy
We all know or have at one point known That Guy. He is nearing or has reached his Middle Ages, still works as a ski/ boot tech in a shop that is going downhill Fast. or Maybe is one of those guys who is a lift operator lead that rides a sled around the resort.
My point is these Man Children have nothing better to do with their lives but complain about the flocks of “Outsiders” coming into “their” home (or place where they squat) and actually keeping the economy from crashing. They only support core brands (whom also don’t seem to give fuck about their opinion, because Heyy ALL BUSINESSES BIG AND SMALL WANT TO TURN A PROFIT!) They probably have a very distinct accent one that sounds like a Low IQ Ski Bum. “oh yeah bro, my best bud Sammy Carlson And his Coach were drinking some PBRs with me the other night.. blah blah blah.. Me and Sammy go way back I even call him Sam he’s cool with it.. blah blah blah”
They have thick beards but still dress like they are in their teens (Possible Pedophile?) They always have an open mouth, Donkey Lookin asses. They are Xenophobic anybody who shows the slightest difference in Opinions, Values, status, etc. are automatically outsiders.
They fear and dread going into being productive citizens in society. In fact many of them even admit they “Escaped” from something (maybe they are serial killers.) Responsibility is an alien concept to them.
Granted Not everybody in Resort town is this way (Thank God). There are amazing people in Resort towns but most of them are shop owners, upper level managers, and people who possess valuable skills (be it riding, filming, maintaining lifts, etc.” Yet and Still resort towns especially those in Colorado are full of the Local Bums, and they all congregate around the condiments section in a resort cafeteria.
contributing nothing, having no motivations to contribute anything, and contemplating Why they are so miserable.
