Positive/Negative opinions? The media is portraying positive reviews of the commercial while all comments on videos are negative. I am interested in people's thoughts on the controversial advertisement.

evaroniWill be interesting to hear NS weigh in on this as it is a majority male forum.
T.L.It's absolute garbage and a hilariously epic marketing failure There's nothing wrong with masculinity. If anything there's a lack real masculinity. A real man doesn't engage in any of that shit portrayed in that commercial and everyone knows that. So why are they acting as if being a piece of shit is inherently part of being a man?
Because it makes headlines and stirs up momentary sales from soy milk chugging self-backpatters, that's why.

TRVP_ANGELWe just going to drop the assumption that majority of NS can grow facial hair, afford hygienic products and wants to stay clean? reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Monsieur_PatateWell, some people will be offended, probably because they see a little bit of themselves in the problematic behaviors and mentality depicted in the commercial... and I think that's the entire point of the commercial. Society is changing and attention is being brought to these issues that have long been overlooked.
To whoever said "epic marketing failure" in this thread, thanks for the good chuckle, buddy. We're talking 14 million views in like 2 days, considerable media coverage and even a thread on NS about a Gillette commercial. You may want to read up on what marketing is.
k-robany man threatened by a commercvial is neither masculine nor in need of a shave or any need of looking good. i still haven't watched the commercial but i understand that wimpy babies are offended by it
Rum_HamI don’t personally feel threatened but it makes me worry about the next generation of men. The same people that make these adds run our education system. Boys won’t be allowed to do the stuff that boys do in grade school like getting in fights on the playground or pranking girls and shit. Also I hate that kids just play video games now instead of playing sports and playing in the woods. My childhood was mostly comprised of running around in the backyard and playing in creeks.
Idk I just feel like in this age of hyper sensitivity and anti masculinity the next generation of boys won’t become men because of how they are brought up. Maybe I’m reaching a bit but I don’t like the way it’s going, I can see it in the way my cousins are raising their son.
Govygen_gourmetTypical Propaganda.. But Gillette and the Zionist owned Media conglomerates are doing it all wrong

TOAST.Whats wrong with encouraging men/boys to try to be the best HUMAN they can be. You can still be masculine without being a dick. If you get into a fight standing up for someone thats much more masculine than being a bully and picking fights with people to try to show them that your "alpha" or some dumb shit.
There will always be assholes in the world male or female and this commercial won't change that.
Bottom line is people that are over sensitive about "attacks on masculinity" are just as bad as people that get offended be everything.
.MASSHOLE.Amen.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Time for the MAGA folks to add another company to their boycott list. Where are we with that again?
It's Nike, Burger King, Starbucks, Netflix, Gillette (so all of Proctor and Gamble I assume), Pepsi, Anheuser-Busch, Amazon, and the NFL all off the top of my head.

T.L.Easy there, bub.. Views are counted regardless of the impact the ad has on a viewer. In this case is overwhelmingly negative for gillette. Both sides of the proverbial aisle here are going out of their way to like or dislike the ad. It's clear where the viewers stand. That video has 2 to 1 dislike/like ratio and that's just what youtube is permitting us to see. They've often been suspected of fudging numbers when potential advertising dollars are at stake.
There's a reason why the phrase 'get "woke", go broke' exists. Just about every time a company caves to SJW pressure and doubles down on pc vitrue signaling, they take a major hit in sales. OR The move has a long lasting negative impact with a major demographic. Dick's sporting goods, EA, Starbucks, Patreon, ESPN, the recent Star Wars movies, I could go on for days.
It's ok @me and engage in conversation. Different opinions help form better ideas. IMO, insinuating that at least 50% of your customer base are serial sexual harassers is a terrible idea.
If you can somehow convince me that "toxic masculinity" is a real thing and that men are born terrible people, I'll piss in my ski boot and chug it.

JemsHow the fuck is the liberal media in any way Zionist

Rum_HamI’m not saying boys should be assholes. I’m saying boys should be boys. Learn by making mistakes and getting in trouble and all that. I never understood how people extend “boys will be boys” to sexual assault and shit. I have a problem with changing trying to change the natural ways boys interact with their peers because it is seen as toxically masculine for them to wrestle or call each other names or even associate with traditionally masculine values/ideals.

greaterisraelIt doesn’t unless you eat pop tarts and punch toasters through walls. The tribes in the south pacific cut themselves to look like salt water crocodiles and poor boiling water on themselves in becoming a man ritual. That’s manly.
The right and left have typicaly a zionist geopolitical view. 6 corporations own all TV media 5 are owned by Jews who are zionists the six is T. Turner who confesses to be a zionist. It’s really no secret and not antisemitic to point out both sides are zionist owned, of course they’ll play some political theater and what not. Still, they always support Israel! The chosen people!
.MASSHOLE.But that's a slippery slope. When does it cross over from letting boys be boys to boys are being bullies? Boys aren't the only people who learn by mistakes, getting in trouble, etc., that's how the majority of the world learns.
The whole extension of the "boys will be boys" to sexual, physical, and verbal assault stems from the lack of clear boundaries and standards as to what it actually entails. Is it "boys being boys" if a group of them single out an individual boy for the way he acts, dresses, plays sports, etc. and tease him? How about if a group of boys hit on a girl who wants to be left alone? Flirting with girls has been consider a "traditional" masculine value.
Rum_HamI’d argue that bullying can be good to an extent. Obviously when it goes too far it can have terrible results. That said I think 99% of people in the world were bullied and bullied others. It makes you a tougher, more resilient person to be bullied as a kid and bullies that grow out of it usually become nicer people once they realize the error of their ways.
