Old Line Influence 115 Manufacturer Midsole line is WRONGO?

So, on lines archived website, it says the midsole line is -77 back from center for 179cm influence 115’s. This includes the newer supernatural series in 115’s for the 179cm length. I decided to measure the entire ski, divide by two to get the center. I realized the midsole line etched in the factory is -91mm from center, not -77mm. The ski is actually almost 3cm shorter than what line says is 179cm. When I do the BOF mount method I get closer to my new midsole mark that is 1.5 cm in front of manufacturer midesole line. Wondering if line screwed this up, or if this was intended and they knew their skis run smaller in length than what they say they are.

Skis are always measure “pre press” so they will measure about 1-3cm less then listed after the tips and tails are formed. ON3P are one of the few that are the actual size as they measure after pressing and K2 is another that measures running length so they measure longer than listed.
Line did change the mount point on that ski one year I know, so you might be looking at a different year than your skis. Honestly the big issue is to tape measure from the tail to the manufactures line on both skis to confirm they are the same as topsheets can always be off a bit. As long as they are the same, they are probably fine as intended by Line that year. Up to you if you want to move them from there.

Yeah. This happens all the time with a lot of brands. I've had Icelantics where the line on the topsheet was 4cm off of where they said it was, and Segos where the line was in different places on each ski.
Here's a tip: If the line is on the top sheet, never trust it, topsheets shift during pressing. If it's on the sidewall, I usually trust it, but I still always double check with a tape measure. The best way to ensure that that line is actually accurate is to measure and punch it into the sidewall after pressing like ON3P does...
