Looking for Ski suggestions for 70% east coast 30% west skier

Metal under foot but not on the tip/tails to make it lightweight and playful but solid when carving on groomers. Mount point in between a park ski and a traditional ski like your Kendo but you can move it up a touch(a cm or so) to make it even more playful.
Have a pair as my daily driver in the East and they are a lot of fun at all speeds.

freeskibum82Id move up to the 10. I love that ski. Perfect on hardpack but has enough play to slash turns in the woods and side stashes.

(im on the east coast regularly skiing icy gore, stratton, mount snow with it)

Greg_KAll the Rustlers are great skis! The 9 is more hard snow biased, so it’s the stiffest(but still playful), least rocker and the best carver of the bunch. The 10 is a bit softer flexing ski with a bit more rocker. It will be even more fun in softer snow with better float but not as quite as good on groomers although still great for a 102mm underfoot.

The PB&J kinda splits the two with the same flex as the 9 but wider underfoot with similar tip/tail width as the 9. Most stable of the 3 at high speeds but the Rustlers are more fun at lower speeds.

mystery3Black Crows Camox? 97mm underfoot, playful all-mountain, good amount of camber, nearly twinned but not a straight up park ski at all.

I've never skied the ARV 96ti, but of it's just significantly stiffer and more poppy than the regular version that could be an option? I know you said you didn't want metal but I that ski doesn't weigh very much.

I have looked at the following skis: J Skis Allplay: might be too playful for me but seem awesome. J Skis Masterblaster: these seem perfect besides the metal, i do not want another heavy ski. ON3P Kartel 96: might be too park oriented. Icelantic Pioneer 96: was very interested in these but heard they are not good on hard pack?. Armada arv 96: too parky?. Head Kore 99: i like how light they are but reviews say too stiff?.

Any suggestions are appreciated

TommyTI hate to argue, but I have to disagree. I have the Backland 102's which have carbon fiber and are borderline, meh, on the hard stuff, but good in any other condition. The Bent Chetler has none; full wood core and way to light for comfort. This ski is seriously on the bottom end of the spectrum are not a great choice for Eastcoast frontside conditions and are more designed for people looking to learn to ski powder back country. In fact, if that is what you are looking for, you will be dying for a Rustler 10 or better after seasons end. For your ski level and what you are looking for though, I'd stick to the brand and go for the new M5 Mantra. They have lighened the ski up, kepts its top stability and put the camber back in. That ski was SICK!!!!! and likely my next choice if I can find them.

Greg_KThe Bent Chetler 100 has a similar side cut and feel to the Moment PB&J but lighter and softer in the shovel. Still a fun playful ski that performs quite well once you move the mount up from it’s “all mountain” mount which is back a bit too far to make it playful. Great value for the money.

Volkl M5 is a stiffer, more directional ski that would outperform most of these skis as far as groomers but not as fun of playful and more of a traditional mount. If you wanted a wider Kendo with a similar feel, this would be the ski. If you wanted a similar ski but a little more fun and forgiving on bumps but still powerful underfoot, the Rustler 9 would the ski.
