T.L.What's going on with their jumps?
twea.kera friend of a friend works at stowe and says now he has to run everything he does by the suits at vail, hiring liftys ect. kinda gummed up the works for a lot of people with careers at vail owned resorts.
theabortionatorGo buy another Che tshirt from hot topic everyone. Vail is the scapegoat for everyone's problems. Pretty obvious when most of the people that say "fuck vail, it's so corporate" are also raving about the Ikon pass.
And to be honest, some small resorts have some massively shitty management. There's good and bad to everything. Probably 5% of the fuck vail people have a decent argument. The rest are just trend whores looking for something to bitch about.

Then the fun stopped. Several managers approached and ordered him out of a lift line. "You know you're not supposed to be here," one told Dionne, he recalled.
So Dionne, who'd had his season pass revoked the previous year for misconduct but had bought another, went home. Stowe police later called him to say he'd be arrested if he returned to the resort, per instructions from the ski area's management.
The next day, he learned of the biggest bummer. A Vail Resorts employee called to tell him he'd been blacklisted from all of its facilities — 18 ski areas in the United States, Canada and Australia owned by the mega-company that purchased Stowe in 2017. The freeze-out means that Dionne, a marketing manager for Colorado-based Never Summer snowboards, can't demo product at any mountains that are part of Vail Resorts' Epic Pass system, including Vermont's Stowe and Okemo.
"The safety of our guests and employees is our No. 1 priority," the statement read. "Stowe Mountain Resort and Vail Resorts have zero tolerance for behavior that could put other guests or employees at risk. If a guest uses unsafe or threatening behavior, then we take appropriate actions, which could include revocation of lift privileges or access to our resorts, in order to ensure the safety of other guests and our employees."
Dionne insists he was "not in any way intimidating or abusive." He feels singled out for a punishment too severe for the offense. People have thrown fireworks from the gondolas at Stowe, berated employees and done worse, he insisted. "The ban for life," he said, "I'm not sure if there's anybody else."
What he never does is apologize or suggest he was wrong to verbally assault a low-paid seasonal worker who’s likely just in it for the turns.
The way ski areas police problem behavior can vary significantly from mountain to mountain.
"Vail Resorts", a local caretaker told New York Times reporters, "is a little like Microsoft... They seem to be buying up everything, hotels, real estate..."
One independent ski-shop owner told of expansion plans thwarted by big corporate interests who had a monopoly on sales and rentals of ski equipment and clothing because they owned the skiing area and ruled that no one else could set up there to sell goods they already sold.
Grade A douchebag, and is about as full of candor as a snake oil huckster. The Vail Resorts experience, if you're an employee, is one where politics trump performance, and if you're lucky, you get to be shipped off to Broomfield, not exactly right in the mountains. Rob fakes it. It's true, he doesn't tell the truth.
Harris advised the Trump Administration on infrastructure policy. Harris and White House advisor Jared Kushner reportedly discussed offering Harris a job in the Trump Administration.[15] Apollo Global Management subsequently loaned $184 million to Kushner Companies.

TowRopeCalvinDoes anybody else think Vail is ruining skiing
ParryWithAnAIts scary stuff for a bunch of reasons.
I'm really worried about doing TAFT next year because now a bunch of my regular resorts are Vail. I have no idea if the people I spent years building a relationships with will be working at those resorts next year.
T.L.There's not enough professionals in the industry with the expertise to replace them all so the majority of them should still be around unless they don't want to fall in line with best practices and SOPs that will be coming down the line for them next season.
You'll likely have to deal directly with corporate contacts in order to organize anything officially so I'd probably reach out now and get that in the works.
Shit, when I was at the other "Creek", Shane just hit me up on facebox and I was like "yeah, dope, we'll get ya whatever you need." Working for VR now it's a way different atmosphere to get anything done. VR doesn't like big parks, social media, comps, events.. any of that cool shit so.. I'm really curious how they're going to handle places like carinthia and big boulder moving forward since that's pretty much what they've been all about for the last 10-15 years.

SkiBum.Lol at that person spending all that time to post that shit no one is gonna read.
greaterisraelDo you read books? THe post isn't that long, and it proves that these people care only about profits. They love money, and hoard it by the millions and billiosn the complete opposite of what Jesus preached. That and they have screwed with ski instructors wages to obtain some more money for their hefty salaries and bonuses as well as money speculation. Vail Resorts, the corporate side of the company is a parasite and no different than parasitic money speculators on wall street.
skeirmanIm a Colorado native and I see no reason to ever ski at Vail. Maybe if you lived there for some reason, otherwise, it makes no sense.

DummyBearsI'v never been to "vail" but i have been to a resort run by them. They are greedily eating up the industry and slowly destroying the culture and places they buy by jacking prices for every small thing even parking. Get the fuck of the east coast vail your shit doesn't belong here.
PyduckVail does it again my buddy upgrade to Epic Pass from Peak with the promise you get all the benefits you had with your peak for this year....oh except any buddy pass or discount for a friend!Vail is ridiculous such liars. Why is my question they are big enough to do it right but would rather screw over the little guy

LemuelTo be honest it is pretty nice to have access to a ton of mountains, especially on the east coast now (probably Jay Peak soon). I am flying out to ski Steven's Pass and Whistler this week. Can't say I would be flying anywhere if I had to pay for lift tickets.

ShadowXVXI skied all the Colorado Vail resorts when I was able to do so for free. They all sucked. No good terrain. Full of gapers. The only good thing about any of them is the Lake Chutes at Breckenridge.
theabortionatorYou didn't go to beaver creek
ShadowXVXI did. Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Vail, Keystone.
