Wazzuh Ns ignore the last thread about stuff dying, I think i'm going to decide to buy a camera, Something that will be able to film longer and last through the day. In your opinion, whats the best camera that will give me a bang for my buck
Are you looking for video or photos? I know Canon 7D's are getting cheap now that the MKII came out and its a pretty bombproof platform. Here is one for $380 and includes a battery pack. I would also grab a Rokinon 14mm lens. Its manual focus and aperture but its wide angle so you dont need to worry too much. Its by far the best bang for the buck wide angle and is sharper than Canon L lenses IMO.

buenoSony a6300 is the best bang for ur buck for video. Shoots 1080/120fps, 4K/30fps etc. It’s super small and portable too
For video I have heard good things about the Sony. I did a side by side against the Canon 70D which is comparable in price and video features and the Canon got spanked pretty good.
noah_jaff3Hypothetically if I had money for a GH5 would it be worth it?
I’ve been shooting with a gh5 for almost 2 years now and I love it so much. I’m a bigger fan of the micro four thirds lens selection too compared to Sony. Mft lenses are pretty damn expensive though. It has treated me super well. Some things to consider would be that in frame rates higher than 60fps on gh5, it doesn’t record audio. The a6300 is known to have maybe the best autofocus in the game, not saying the gh5 autofocus is bad but the a6300 af is better. Other than that the gh5 kinda takes the cake, but there is that price difference too

It records no audio? so if I hook up an external mic it won't work? I think I might just save up and find a steal for the gh5. I will keep an eye out on ebay. Do you know if GH4s are any good either

Never understood why they put the higher frame rates in the variable rate option and not in the standard menu area. What if you want the video in normal playback? Have to speed it up in post?

Yea unfortunately above 60fps there’s no audio. Even if you have an external mic. I’d personally save up the extra money and go for the gh5. I believe the gh4 doesn’t have in body image stabilization and the gh5 does and it’s really really good. Just one of many things the gh5 does that the gh4 can’t

Ive never understood it either. It’s kind of a pain to playback in camera. Yea exactly, just gotta speed it up in post
i would probably go a6300 over gh4. not exactly sure how the prices match up, but the a6500 has everything the a6300 has, but image stabilization which is pretty nice. not essential though

no...definitely no. Easily the worst lens I've ever used, and not sharper than even questionable L glass. A way way better option for that focal length is a new or used Tokina 11-16, they go pretty cheap if you get one of the old non-autofocus ones, which isn't necessary for a lens that wide

yup 100% best bang:buck for video in the sub 1k category

What specifically did you not like about the 14mm? The Tamron does look like a good lens as well.

the Tamron (and Samyang) are all the same thing just rebranded
the lens is not only soft but it has the worst moustache distortion I've ever seen, which is a PITA yet somewhat workable with photos, but an absolute dealbreaker for video
this is a good example of how bad the distortion is, all strait lines in this shot are supposed to be strait....
Hey, how about Cannon EOS2000 D. It's the latest model of the Cannon series. 24.5 Mpx and it has an installed Wi-Fi connection. That means any cloud service is easily available. I am not a professional photographer but I think you might need some portable lenses and a flash trigger. Here's some useful info you can read https://geeklah.com/best-wireless-flash-trigger.html. A nice camera but might be too expensive, about 300 euros.
PANASONIC LUMIX G7. It's like the GH4"s younger cousin, has all the good qualities for filming and a better low light sensor, just cant record a higher framerate than 60fps, and 4k is only 30fps. I got a body with basic lens on B&H like two years ago for ~$800, it's an amazing start. Right now it's on sale for $499.97 on b&h here -> https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1148282-REG/panasonic_dmc_g7kk_lumix_dmc_g7_mirrorless_micro.html
