BrawnTrendsOne thing I find interesting with the US is that resorts seem to try to do everything they can to avoid being sued, and yet don't enforce putting the bar down on chairlifts.

Lifties don't get paid enough to care about it, and they can only see it as it leaves the drive and approaches the return, when the bar should be up anyway.

Monsieur_PatateIt's just in the culture, everyone puts the bar down in Europe. If you don't and a lifty sees you they'll tell you to put the bar down, it's a pretty simple thing. I'm sorry but I see zero benefit to not putting the bar down. The bar is safer and lets you rest your legs/arms, it's one of those no brainer decisions.
