Mt.Baker????????????????

Ive spent some time up there, it super dope if you live in Bellingham but the trek from Seattle may be too much, maybe just for me i guess. The mountain is super rad, small like only three to four main lifts but the terrain is super rad and the off piste/ side country is off the charts literally one of the best mountains for that if your into it. The conditions always vary but it hold records each years for snowpack and can get straight NUKED with snow but the shits super heavy, the light is usually flat but its all good because theres a bunch of trees. I swear shits always 33 and snowing. On a clear day the views are super dope Mt. Shucksan is right there in your face and so is Mt Baker. There is no park just a bunch of dope hits you get really really used too, a cool natural half pipe and some other stuff. If you love to smoke weed go there I think highway 542 might be the highest highway in America this is no joke I was a serious smoker when I was up there and I got out smoked all the time. The mountain is sick definitely go check it out. This mountain and Crystal are your best bets in WA.

Im gonna be honest with ya here. And this isnt even the typical "dont come it only rains here" spiel we usually give people.

Baker is not the closest mountain to Seattle. Stevens Pass and Snoqualmie/Alpental are much closer. Snoqualmie is 45 minutes from downtown Seattle. If you like skiing park, Baker literally has no park. Not even a couple boxes. Snoqualmie has a rad park as well as night skiing (Alpental and Stevens Pass also offer night skiing).

Alpental and the surrounding backcountry is amazing. It has everything you want. Stevens Pass as well. If you buy a pass to Stevens, you get 10 free days to Whistler.

The snow is deep, but it's wet. It's called Cascade Concrete for a reason... like 1/10 days are actual dry blower pow in Washington.

Baker is like the complete opposite of your typical touristy bullshit ski resort. There’s no park, no high-speed lifts, no fancy anything, the ski area is way the hell out in remote indian country in the north Cascades.

If you want some hippy telemark skiers to show you how badly you suck at skiing head to Baker.

Baker is top tier. What resort gets exclusively blower anyway?

this right here, bring your rain coat. Can't tell you how many times I've done the 4 hour drive from Seattle to baker only to ski wet cement snow when the snow elevation suddenly goes up or it just starts raining. Their deepest snow marketing is such BS

I miss Colorado blower pow so damn much

move to Seattle, go to Alpental, get a local willing to show the side country, I ski there a lot but the side country isn't that fun of you don't know where to go

I live in Seattle and have family up near Mt. Baker, it does snow a ton there. But if you want to live in Seattle that would be a rough drive to make regularly. Stevens, Snoqualmie & Crystal are a lot closer.

Mt Baker is too low in elevation and is more often rainy than not. If you live in Seattle, go to Stevens, they are further east and therefore have a dryer micro climate and high speed lifts with access to more terrain.
