Michael_ThatcherIt depends on your weight and how advanced/aggressive of a skier you are. If you're not sure if you need the 14's or the 18's you're probably fine with the 14's.
PeterkrekorianIm looking to put either pivot 18s or pivot 14s on a new pair of Kartel 96s and cant really decide what to buy. I don't need the crazy high din range of the 18s. I ski 50-50, park and all mountain but will definitely be beating them up in the park anyway so is it really worth is to spend the extra 70$. Is there an advantage or disadvantage to buying either.
DominatorJacquesIf your proper DIN setting is about a 7, you use a 14.
If it is a 9 or so you use the 18.
Any less than 7, you would use a 12.
So, you don't need an 18. Forget about that 18.

PeterkrekorianI currently use an 8 on average but I jack it up to 8.5 maybe 9 for all mountain bumps trees etc.
DominatorJacquesYea, okay. The deal is bindings work the best about half way up the DIN settings.
A 12 total would still work for sure, but optimal for the 8 would be a 16.
That said a 14 will do just fine as well.
I say save your money. Then slightly reduce you DIN setting!
