In college my teammates and I built a huge rocket for a national NASA competition and ended up winning all the marbles and got 1st place after a whole year of working 70 hour weeks on the project

Thanks! Yeah it was rad. My favorite thing I've ever been a part of.
Not without its struggles though. A week before competition we had a motor failure (see also: explosion) and our $30k baby exploded right in front of our eyes. That sucked. A lot.
Awful memories of that launch. I'll never forget the pit in my stomach watching our precious baby shred itself to bits and flush months of work down the drain. Lots of teammates who I thought were unshakable shed a lot of tears and it was a nightmare from hell for us team leads. Really felt like the dream had died. Painfully quiet car ride home that day. But hey! We did it! Beyond cool to watch the team rally, pull together, and miraculously rebuild in a week. Seeing all the damage, I truly thought it was impossible but every single member surprised me that week. Taught me a lot about what people are capable of when they really care about something and what real teamwork is like. Very surreal to come back from that and win it. Sometimes I think back on it and still don't really believe it.

Spent three weeks living next to Rock Creek in the Beartooths. Nothing but skiing, hiking, fishing, and campfires the whole time. Had several moose and bears around camp the first week before summer crowds showed up. It was such a peaceful, beautiful experience, I have dreams about it all the time.

This place is amazing. I’m pretty sure it’s my favorite place on earth so far. By any chance were you there in July, and skied with a random redhead chick with a green pack?!!!

Isn't it!? There is something special about these mountains that I have never felt anywhere else. Just Early-Mid June for me. Let's ski next summer!

A regular Homer Hickam! But actually, that's super cool - and it beats the baking soda and vinegar in film canistars I did as a kid haha.
I don't have a photo cause I got robbed the week after. Coolest thing was probably breaking into Vic Falls park at night under a full moon with a local guy I hooked up with.
He hit me up, asked if I wanted to see something amazing. Was like sure I guess, bored af at the hostel so why not. He picked me up, we hid his car in the woods and headed out to the river bed. Ditched our shoes midway down and kept walking. Ended up sitting on the edge, legs dangling over the 300' and chance drop while we drank whiskey, talked about life, and had a bit of fun. It was pretty fucking awesome just sitting there under the full moon, quite as fuck, noone else around. Soaking up a beautiful piece of the natural world through our eyes, and kind of our clothes because of the mist lol.

Should've explained. It's an EOD bot pulling a car. The promotional video for the bot had people sitting in/on the car, but I don't have a picture of that as I was one of the people.

The team I worked with handled most of the design and machining. I worked on a navigational/controls system used in later designs. I pitched in some with machining/assembly when they were behind schedule and/or hung over.
