pinkcamo1000Loon only because you have to ride that shitty gondola to lap it. Otherwise it's dope though
theabortionatorCurious to see peoples thoughts as a long time east coast local.
Seems harder to find overrated parks than just shitty parks though.

bike.life.beckDon't really feel like there is such thing as an overrated park. It's kinda just how convenient it is to get to and the quality of the features.
theabortionatorI feel like there are many more overrated mountains than parks. There are def overrated mountains but not so much, and not always widely known.
theabortionatorI meant overrated parks instead of mountains on the second part but I'm tired af because wtf is sleep.
SofaKingSickYou spoiled brat, go to your room
Carinthia is sick! They've got six thousand features and all kinds of different zones. Long small-medium park, wood rail park, gulch by itself would be a sick medium park almost anywhere, and inferno is literally a dew tour level park (at least it was last time I hit it)
What would you even want to add? They're only missing long technical rails but fuck man so is everyone else
PeterkrekorianI’m not saying it’s a bad bad park, I love to rip it when I can. I’m saying most parks are by themselves without looking at the lifts and access are all good, as long as they have something I’m happy, I just hate waiting 15 min to go hit it again. I think I’m biased towards lifts in this case because I think that a park should be made up of a junction of rope tows and t-bars that make up a specific section of the park. This is how my local hill works and it would help to keep them in sections so there’s still flow. People would find there niche and stick to it and progressively work there way down the mountain but being able to get a shot at features 10+ times. This would also kill any wait time on the weekends and long lift rides. Most smaller mountains have setups that work but places like killington and carinthia get overrun. In my opinion both have great parks but I get like 1 lap an hour on each and there’s no rythem if your practicing a line a few choice Features. I may know nothing here but I think the way you acces the park and how fast and to what sections of large parks is crucial.
theabortionatorNever thought I'd see the day that parks are "too long" and should be smsllers hills with rope tows. Sounds like you'd dig the midwest where you can probably see every feature on the hill from the rope tow.
Sure with Carinthia its a long lap but saying theres no rhythm is crazy. Some people are hard to please. Jesus, I remember having to spend half the dsy building jumps so we had something to hit. A couple times a year going to a mtn that actually had a park, sometimes 1 that had a few rails.
.
Now a fully stacked mtn section with multiple parks and 2 decicated lifts isnt good enough.
Carinthia is overrated in the sense that it'sthe only place to so many people. People forget about other mtns. In terms of the parks and what they build, hard to say its overrated as its one of the top parks for sure. Maybe not your jam (for whatever reason) overrated? Probably not
edaiYea definitely harder, only resort that comes to mind would be like Sunday River, but that was only really during their Dumont Cup stint and I'm not sure anybody thought the park was any good anyways.
Oh yea and fucking Ski Sundown. Everybody in CT knows of it because it's where Lupe grew up, but they only build ride on lips to features and their parks flow is pretty wack. Honestly not the park builders fault though, just a funky trail for a park. If you want the real shit in CT, gotta go to Mt. Southington
SkiBum.My snow carinthia is both over rated, sloppy and rushed and borderline unsafe at times. 100% amature hour there

Obie.Hope you're a troll.
SkiBum.No. That entire mountain, company, park and program are sloppy and garbage. Just because you have a lot of park open quick and always doesn’t mean it’s good, well thought out and safe.

SofaKingSickYou can't make a screwball claim like this without giving examples? Or explaining further
SkiBum.It’s not a screwball claim. I have my reasons for my claims and they are accurate. The normal kid that goes there to ski park or any mountain for that matter has no idea of how stuff works. That place is a shit show.
Titus69I mean on a busy day yea it's a shit show, you seem to be getting this shit mixed up cause it's the flocks of Jerry's from NY who cant ski in general going through the parks. You seem to have a problem with the people without any argument on how the parks are.

SkiBum.No, not the idiot tourists from NY. The mountain, company, and how its run. It is a shit show. I am amazed they are still in business. One more EB5 funny money hickup and they will be with Jay Peak.
I am spinning my wheels here. You all just keep jumping and jibbing away.

LemuelI grew up skiing at Southington, went back for the first time in 6 years last weekend. By god the setup was awful hahah but anything is better than no features.
PeterkrekorianThis is very true more resorts need to drop some bucks and add rope tows, t-bars and some small high speed quads so you can actually enjoy how nice the park is at places like loon.
ButteredToast.I wish rope tows would die already and T-bars take their rightful place as the replacement. So tired of shredding my gloves on rope tows. I won't even ride our small terrain park just to avoid the rope tow... I'm kind of a wuss

JohngreenacreNot carinthia.
Killington

BenWhithaven't been to Loon recently, but they used to build a decent park on springboard that you could lap on the seven brothers quad. it got was less traffic than the main park, too... which was nice.
PeterkrekorianI do enjoy that and they still build springboard but god that quad is slow.
BenWhitdefinitely true. i don't think the park was all that big, either. but a couple of flat bars, down bars, and a kicker or two is all i really need. the lift might be slow but you have to consider how long it takes to lap the gondola.
PeterkrekorianIt’s much faster then the gondola. If they got a few tows or t-bars it would be a few hundred times better. If they wanted to throw a high speed in that goes to the top of lmp it would service both and be super nice although that would cost a lot.
BenWhitit just seems like they put the LMP in a weird spot, all things considered.
headed to Loon on Saturday, don't ski park all that often anymore, but i'll have to swing through it.
