zaching11As a political science major and freakier. I’m pretty conservative on a majority of issues. Plus you gotta respect a man that gives no fucks about what anyone thinks of him (Trump)!😂
sambuswellWhy would that make you respect a leader, whose job it is to represent a country before the world?
zaching11you gotta respect a man that gives no fucks about what anyone thinks of him (Trump)!😂
Monsieur_Patatelolwut?
It's actually the exact opposite, the guy constantly lies in order to try and convince people that he is the greatest. Every single time someone says something bad about him, he is going to tweet about it to tell them they're wrong. He cares waaaayyyy too much about what everyone says or thinks of him. He takes credit for everything good that happens even if he has nothing to do with it to try and look good. He feels obligated to tell everyone how great he is. Seriously, I don't know anyone who cares that much about what other people think, what the fuck are you even talking about?

theabortionatorBuild that
zaching11This feature got torn apart this year . Iconic ☹️
zaching11Guees this is just the nature of poltics. We’re all going to have different opinions. He’s doing great things rn despite what the media says. If you can’t thoroughly explain world issues like what’s goin on between Israel and Palestine, Syria, Myanmar, etc. you don’t have a ton of credibility talking about those issues just because you heard something on the news. Facts don’t care about your feelings and that’s what Trumps been great at promoting
zaching11Yup haha. Loons my Home mountain. They tour it down this summer because of how rotten it was I believe 😭
theabortionatorThat fucking blows. I haven't been there since 08 but that thing was sick af even then. I thought it was metal framed for some reason. Doesn't the thing have stairs in it?
RIP to a legend of the northeast! If they tear down the stairset I'm starting a fucking riot in the lodge
broto*takes poli sci 101 once*
trump has run up the deficit, worsened political divisiveness in our country, refused to denounce despots and dictators, disrespected the highest office in America, trashed our foreign relations, and has had campaign staffers and cabinet members indicted and found guilty of numerous felonies. I hope to God I'm feeding a troll right now because our president is embarrassing our country right now and I dont know how anyone still supports him.

DIRTYBUBBLESkiing is a sport that is dependent on a consistent climate. I cannot fathom why any skier would choose to align themselves with the only political group in the world that thinks climate change is a hoax. Climate change has the potential to have a major impact on skiing and it’s kind of fucked that a lot of skiers don’t give a shit because they’re too biased to understand how something works.
LonelyA conservative backlash to far left politics.
I'm torn on trump. On one hand he is a terrible person and has done a terrible job representing the united states. He makes fun of veterans, is a draft dodger, has not released his tax records, and is one of the poorest examples of ethics I can think of. He's mocked by other world leaders and has caused the country to become very polarized.
On the other hand he has done a few good things. Although that should probably be attributed to his administration and not him as an individual. As weird as he sounds I think he is the lesser of two evils, and I'm not talking about Hillary Clinton. If a capable far right politician was in his position I think we would be in a much worse spot, and I am quite conservative. His inadequacy makes him less of a threat, and his most polarizing proposed policies will most likely never be signed into law.
I support his isolationist views and I think in today's world we need to shift our focus away from globalism and continued involvement. Although I can't say i'm comfortable with any official having any ties to Russia, especially in this new era of Russian aggression.
Hopefully trump will act as a wake up call and we will make a return to moderate conservatism in the U.S.
zaching11You have to keep in mind modern conservatives (example; myslef) are completely aware of climate change and support a ton of liberal views like marijuana legalization , LGBT right etc. There’s going to be a massive shift in conservative politics in the next 10 years that resemble a lot of the lefts social views , but keep the conservative economic views in tact.
milk_manHmm.. I can't say I agree. If people are going to give up their stance on issues like that, what's there to stop them from just becoming liberal? Young people don't really care about fiscal issues in general.
I see the future of US politics being that the majority will inevitably become more liberal (since more people are living in big cities), and even thought the conservatives will shrink in number they won't give up what they believe.
So basically there will continue to be a large divide, but liberals will start to get more of an upper hand on conservatives, and that will cause things to sort of calm down. Because when conservatives aren't getting what they want they don't go riot in the streets. lol

zaching11Haha I love the “conservatives won’t go riot in the streets”. Very true statement 😂,
I think you’re just misunderstanding what a lot of people care about. I know a majority of my friends at least, lean conservative strictly on 1.economic reasons ( especially in college), and 2. The stupidity of far left movements like their 350 genders. Poltics have basically always been left vs right, I don’t think anything will change Over the next 25 years besides conservatives becoming a little bit more liberal (not bible thumping conservatives as you like you said, they will stand strong in what they believe in)
milk_manConservatives in college who compromise what they grew up believing--probably to fit in with fellow college students--are definitely a minority of total conservatives. I'm curious though, are you in college right now? If so, what year?

SammyDubz“I’m socially liberal but fiscally conservative“ - every 18 y/o male college student after taking their first year of classes
Way to fit right into the mold dipshit

zaching11Haha nice try but I’ve been like this for a quite a while buddy. Always been into politics. worked on campaigns for Congress, and governers. Read and look into way more than you could prob comprehend. A lot of young conservatives are that way because that’s what the face will have to be.
zaching11Go back to identifying as an Apache helicopter or toaster “dipshit” lol
LonelyAlso, the "you disagree with me so you must be a liberal snowflake" is really something that should not be a part of political discord. You're a political science student. Do better.
zaching11Political discord is not callin people dipshit lol. Do better keyvboard warrior

LonelyAt 20 years old you are by no means an expert or have been like this "For quite a while". You have had a fully developed brain for a relatively short time;
Also, good sentence structure and articulation would work wonders for your argument.
maejstYou will find that the majority of today's young voter base who identify as "conservative" are really just libertarians who disagree with progressive left wing politics and are in fact very centrist.
Rum_HamPretty much spot on. People should be able to do what they want with their bodies/relationships or drugs they want to take or whatever. I just don’t want to pay higher taxes.
The political parties of the US don’t represent the average voter and instead represent special interest groups and lobbyists. This basically forces people to hardline on one or two issues and align themselves with the party that supports it. That’s how we ended up with Bernie and Trump.
zaching11Sophomore studying political science in NH ... a lot more conservatives in college than you’d think, they’re just not vocal about it. You always have to keep in mind , a large majority of People who vote conservative aren’t vocal about. We have a republican President , majority in the senate , and a majority of state governers. That doesn’t happen if a lot of people don’t support at least most of the views of the party

.MASSHOLE.That's quite the uh...first statement there. Very unbiased I must say.
The second is just straight up stupid.
Isolationist views are perhaps one of the stupidest things to reappear in 21st century politics. Political isolationism leads to economic isolationism which in turn leads to economic stagnation and a whole host of other negative reactions. Why? Well, a lot of reasons which can really be simplified down to just economic specialisation.
Economic specialisation is when a person/company/country focuses their/its production efforts on a limited variety of goods because of competitive advantages (or disadvantages when producing other goods). This usually comes about because of comparative advantages that allow for one party to produce a good or service at a lower opportunity cost than another party.
I could pretty easily write a 5,000 word report showing you the effects of economic isolationism on a goods and service level and why it goes against common sense but I really don't want to spend Christmas Eve doing a tenth of that.
Just trust me when I say if the economics profession almost unanimously agrees on something, chances are, it's because the alternative is so fucking stupid and frankly bad that it's not worth considering.
But the other side of isolationism that a lot of people seem to forget comes from the human capital side of things. By introducing tenets of isolationism on the political side, it has a ripple effect that translates over to the economic side in a much more insidious way; the loss of intellectual talent. Trump's decision to make visa's and immigration more difficult have, so far, had a noticeable effect on the movement of PhDs, MDs, and other types of intellectuals into the US markets. Losing out on these types of minds is, in the long run, going to be detrimental to the US economy and education system. Not only are we going to lose potential educators, but we're going to lose out on potential businesses, like a Google, Apple, etc., who were founded by people who are the children of immigrants or are direct immigrants themselves.
On a broader level, economic and political isolationism also has the potential to actually increase the amount of global warfare. The reason we haven't seen another world war can, at least partially, be attributed to the rise in global trade deals. The fact that almost every large military power has, in some shape or form, a trade deal with a potential opponent keeps everyone in check. The reason the TPP was so important to many politicians and economists went beyond the written "benefits" of the agreement to the idea that now there would be a united blockade of countries who could depend upon one another to counteract the aggressive movements of the Chinese military into the South China Sea.
So, if you want us to take more of an isolationist approach you better hope we close off our entire border to any sort of outside involvement or dependence (a la Japan until the 1850s) because if we don't, then isolationist policies are going to utterly fail. And to do that, chances are, we'd have to take a central planning-type approach because capitalism wouldn't be able to support the entire US population.
runforlove2018I really wanna jump into this and just tell people how fucking dumb and wrong they are but no one ever listens or learns. So in the meantime, carry on....
