Switching skis between feet

Maybe dumb but, if you have symmetrical skis side to side - is there any benefit/detriment to switching skis from one foot to the other, in terms of wear? Like rotating tires sort of. I feel like the ski I normally wear on the left foot tracks into my right ski sometimes. Wondering if there is any issue switching this ski to the right foot. Can't see why it would be a problem.

No prob at all, usually when I dick up an edge on an early season rock I'll just switch up the foot it's on to make sure it's the outside of the downhill ski. Sometimes the topsheets dont line up but who gaf

I don't even know which is which.

My new pair are double right graphics anyways, or double left??? Point is it doesn't matter except on a few random skis that are asymmetrical.

Pretty sure elan is one just about the only manufacturer that makes left/right specific skis, and thats just the high end race stuff. Some guys will switch which foot the skis go on half way through a tune because of edge wear.

some of K2's skis are asymmetric and have right and left skis. If you're hitting rails it will definitely make a difference for your skis' longevity

if you have symmetrical skis you should definitely switch which one you have on which foot periodically. The inside edges of your skis wear faster when you carve (because most of your weight is on your downhill ski), so switching them from time to time will make the wear more even so you won't have one sharp edge and one dull edge on a ski

Sometimes I prank my friends by switching their left and right skis when they're not looking LOL

I have this old pair of armada coda’s and for some reason I got 2 left skis(it’s supposed to be a dub graphic) and they don’t make any difference

never ever ever ever EVER put your left ski on your right foot dude. it will fucking ruin your day every time. this is the only thing worse than calling last run. this is worse than a lip on front 2. dont test your luck.

From what I have read, it can be detrimental to switch between the right and left ski.
What I have heard is good to do a few times a year is to switch the tips for the tails and clip in backwards. Helps the wax on the bottom from getting to worn in one direction as well as detunes the edges well for the next time you want them to sharpen, seems bizarre but I have found it very beneficial for the longevity of my skis

If ur like me and suck real bad at hitting rails ur unnatural way then I occasionally swap to stop one edge from getting completely worn down while the other only gets use when I hit 1 front swap in every 20 tries lol
