What are your favourite bands, songs or albums? This thread is specifically for doom, stoner and sludge so don't talk about other genres or subgenres of metal here.
My favourite bands are The Sword, Bongripper, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, Electric Wizard, Sleep, Kyuss, Witch and QotSA
Favourite albums are Terminal, Blood Lust, Used Future, Apocryphon, Dopethrone, Sky Valley, I See You Hearin Me, Villains, Era Vulgaris
Favourite song are I Wanna Make It Wit Chu, Go With The Flow, Funeralopolis, Dragonaut, Freya, I'll Cut You Down, Death's Door, Electric Funeral and Jizz Witch
Dub post but legit one of my all time favorite bands. Saw them live in SLC last spring with King Buffalo (Another amazing band) and it tore the place down. They like a 5 song encore till well past midnight/almost 1am. Shit was nuuuts
i like the song drug dealer a lot, I'm not heavily into this kind of music but i've been gravitating towards it for a while. they also did a collab with street bmxers which was cool to watch. Some people call it heavy blues or something, i'm not sure.

Monolord is my all time, I’ve seen them play a few times and they blow me away, Bongripper was an extremely close second, and I just bought tickets for Conan and I’ll let you know how that goes
Mountains & Reminisce by Spaceslug was one of my favorite albums this year
satanworshipperwhat’s your favourite sludge metal?
Kylesa: static tensions
Mastodon: blood mountain
Baroness: blue record
Red Fang: murder the mountains
High on Fire: snakes for the divine
16: Bridges to burn
lol i explained sludge really badly before. so here is a better explanation now that i am more educated on my genres.
Sludge is basically a combination of heavier doom metal and hardcore punk. The vocals are harsh, and the music sludgy and distorted. Sludge metal was established after the rise of stoner metal.
Crowbar was probably one of the first bands to spark up this new genre. In the darkened streets of New Orleans, the prostitute with no fingernails and a golfball for an eye had tricked the youthful musicians amd instead of selling Crowbar the dankest kush on that side of the Mississippi river as she promised, she actually sold them a cauldron of Nickelodeon slime. Realizing they had been decieved, Crowbar declared their hatred for mankind and swore to let their unweilding hatred permiate everything that they touched.
You heard me right, we are getting to the extreme doom goodies now. The subgenre "slime" was not selling very well so they changed the name to "sludge".
Some of Crowbar's best albums are Odd Fellows Rest, Self-titled and Sonic excess in it's purest form
Personally, I do not find exceeding pleasure in listening to Crowbar, but you can find the same tantalizing nectar of misanthropy (and I do enjoy these juicy hatred filled bands quite a bit more) from The Melvins (I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, but they used to be roommates or something along the lines with Kurt Cobain himself), Acid Bath (ugh, one of my absolute favourites!) and Eyehategod (equally as heroin fueled and misanthropic, with songs like "White N*gger" and "Sister Fucker", I definitely recommend you check out the album "Take as needed for pain").
Acid Bath, like I said, are by far one of my favourites. Just good sludge in general. They were also able to make acoustic guitar sound heavy! But, they are almost impossible to come by. Unless you have Apple Music, you can't really get them anywhere else unless you buy the albums. They're not on spotify, and if the albums appear on youtube they will probably get taken down within days. I believe you can find their full albums on pornhub, though! Here's a link to one of their albums on Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/267965453
They're underground in the sense that it's pretty hard to listen to them, but everyone knows them!
