I don’t think any company has ever built such a beefy ski and I’ll leave it at that. Topsheet. Edges. Sidewall. Bases. Tip and Tails. They’re all about as beefy as they can get, it’s sick.
I have a pair of 16-17 kartels that should be in a museum. The damn things have hundreds of days, thousands of rail hits...but I ski 90%+ big mountain and they have taken many rocks to the base like nothing.
Overrated as fuckkkkk. I've had 2 pairs of kartels. 1st pair edges fell out in a season and the side wall basically peeled out on me. 2nd pair I'm currently riding have about 15-20 days on them and the edges exploded on me last week and I have nothing underfoot. Super fun skis but I can't justify paying what they ask for something that barely holds up a season. While I won't be surprised if most people downvote me but this is just my experience, I hope others have had better luck than me.

Did you happen to take any precautions before bashing your nice sharp edges on rails?
Current pair. Bought these in the spring. They got about 5 glacier days on them and after about 10 as of the end of November the edges are completely blown.
First pair. Hard to see in the photos but the core rotted because I had to keep riding them. Basically the sidewall and topsheet underfoot are loose and peeling away from the core.
Do you take care of burs after every day? Do you do anything when the edges crack? Massive edge damage like that always seems to be caused by inadequate detuning and poor maintenance.
These ON3P's look absolutely destroyed. I have a hard time believing this happened in 10 days. Unless these skis were made with gorilla glue and scrap materials, there is no way any ski edge would blow out that fast. I get cracks in the time but holy shit man, that is some obliteration. It seems like the skis that have a higher flex seem to have a lower durability, and it seems like this is true for ON3P's; I'm just wondering what ON3P's last the longest and if they are worth spending the money on if they are equal or less durable than other options. A side question, does width have anything to do with it? If all ON3P's obliterated like your's did, they wouldn't be in business, but maybe you just ran it through a seasons paces in a week idk mane.

Nah man do you touch up your edges on your park skis after every day on them? If not doing that is poor maintenance then I've never properly maintained a pair of skis in my life. That being said, either on3ps I've owned still blew up faster than any of my other skis.

Well it was about 15-20 days like I said in my original post. You'd think it should not but it's a very strange weak point in these skis (at least in my experience). Imo it's just weird this happens because any other skis I've had just wear down underfoot and crack a lot but will rarely pull out. As far as your question about flex, do you mean higher flex as in softer? If it is I think the general rule is that a softer ski is less durable because it doesn't absorb vibrations as well as a stiff ski. Obviously there is no way on3p would still be afloat if all their skis blew up but a huge portion of their market (at least in my hometown) are kids who just want nice sticks. I'm hard on my gear though and have unfortunately gone through several pairs per season sometimes :(. I'm surprised how defensive people get on on3ps behalf though. You asked for an opinion on durability and I shared my experience. I'm not all butthurt about my skis falling apart I just want people to be aware they will break (sometimes before you think they will) because they are park skis and that's what happens.

I'm confused. Were you skiing on rocks beside the glaciers?
*edited we're to were cuz my autocorrect apparently has bad grammar

f100prerunnerTo what point did you file your edges? They should be round underfoot if you’re bashing them on rails.
Give the dude a break. I think we've all ridden non-detuned skis on rails at some point and wouldn't expect an edge to blow out like that. Personally I've never detuned a ski and I've never had more than some cracking on my fully park-dedicated sticks. This is clearly an anomaly for ON3P who builds a reputation on bulletproof skis.
Or the rails he's riding are made of like corrugated or expanded steel or something haha

I’m genuinely curious I have no idea how you could do that to these skis lol they seem insanely bulletproof and to say you detuned when they look like that? And to two pairs?

People need to know that slamming your edges on a metal rail and expecting nothing to happen to your skis even one time let alone for 5, 10, 40 days is an absurd expectation. Two metal objects hammering on each other WILL cause something not nothing. Its basic physics. Companies that build park skis build to RESIST potential damage. Rails are not all buttery slip n slides and each hit brings a unique collision producing unique damage if any. Waiting for all these companies to start putting warranty disclaimers on rail use because of this mind set. To answer OP. ON3P like a couple other companies use materials (I.E, 2.5 edges/thicker bases etc...) that help with durability but nothing is guaranteed with rails.
Ive been riding my filthy rich's since i bought them in 2016. the top sheets are by far the toughest sons of bitches ive ever had. the pivots on them look like they've been sucked through a fucking tornado but the skis have held their own. 10/10 will buy another pair once these twigs have enough.
mat_espoI'm surprised how defensive people get on on3ps behalf though.
I think it's less defensive and more curious about how this happened. I've had 5 or 6 pairs of ON3Ps, I've never seen anything like that come close to happening with mine. Here's a pair of FRs I recently sold that 100+ days on them, park skiing mostly rails all day (I managed the terrain park at the time, so I spent a lot of my work days hitting rails). They don't have anywhere close to that amount of damage you got in 1/5 of the time. So, at least for me, I'm not being defensive, just curious.

RIP man. Don't have any ON3P skis myself, but the ON3P followers are going to end you lol

You must be skiing on rocks. 15-20 days is nothing. quit hating. Or get the fuck out of the park and ski like a real man
My kartel 108s are going on strong on their 3rd season without any damage other than a few dings on the topsheet. On the other hand my friend had his kartel 96s for 10 days and they both broke at the front of the bindings after hitting a stump. Most skis might have broken but it’s still pretty disappointing
fghtoffyrdmnsthis has been my experience too tbh my filthy riches got blown tf up quick and every pair of nomads ive had have lasted me 1-2 years
update on the nomads: 5-6 edge cracks but no signs of anything worse than just that. Got a huge core shot though because I was an idiot and thought you could do tree skiing in Minnesota on just a foot of snow.
