A long ways away but back in the USA baby! Salt Lake is the site. Anyone else stoked for this? If you live in Salt Lake I'm sorry for your future traffic nightmares. I bet Denver folks are a little sad cuz they were in the running.

Slc is the bid that the USOC is putting forth to the IOC. Nothing is fully official although it does seem likely.

Seriously. The housing situation in the Vail valley leading up to the 2015 world cup was absolutely insane. People were renting couches for a couple hundred per month. I thought about doing the same but I was in employee housing lol

Not to mention all the J1's they'd insist on importing to work it.

I was hoping for the 2026. But I’ll take it.

I’ve livind in Park City for 9 of the last 10 years and I’m excited it’s coming back. Infrastructure is already in place. Minimal “new” construction is needed. You could literally roll into this in 2 years and it would be fine. It makes total sense financially.

People will bitch about housing costs and where to stay but the 02 Olympics did fine. Lots of temp housing was brought in. Same will be done this time. Or at the rate we are developing it will be just built.

If another venue grabs downhill and Super G (Snowbird) then I could see major improvements to public trans up LCC. This would most likely be some sort of train. For those who say fuck this and to many people and not my backyard, well, that came and went 5 years ago. Welcome to today.

Between now and then (if it happens) there will be a dip in economy. And I will be in condo buy mode. Would love another 2 units in town to sell or rent when Olympics time comes. Always have to think ahead.
