The old FKS bindings are mounted but the brakes are too narrow. I mounted them at a shop with a friend. He did the torque release tests and the side torque test was definitely a little stiff. The straight pull out was about normal. I will probably just bend the brakes for now and shop for a newer pair of fks or pivot bindings.
Anyone have fks or pivot bindings they wanna sell me????
Thanks!
SofaKingSickif a shop mounted them, chances are theyre fine. most shops (according to the rules) will not mount bindings that are not indemnified (and they have updated lists)
so if a shop mounted them for you and it wasn't just them doing you a favor, theyre fine. they should have tested them after they mounted them (again, assuming this was an above-the-table transaction at a shop)
as for brakes, you can bend them quite a bit. back when wide brakes were rare, i bent my pivots' brakes (something like 80mm) out to fit my 96 waist skis without much issue
you can also buy new wide brakes for them but they will be pricey and a little involved to replace (pivot brake unit is kind of a big integrated part of the heelpiece)
im confused though-- what's the current situation? the bindings are mounted on your skis or...?
